I have a Colt M4 conversion kit upper I bought in 1999 or 2000. It has a fixed handle upper with a 16" M4 bbl. I'm trying to decide what to do with it and I wanted some advice.
1. Is it collectible or does anyone have a feeling that they will become collectible? In other words, should I leave it alone and not mess with it. If you think I shouldn't mess with it give me a +1 for "leave it alone". FYI, it's on a Cav Arms MkII lower right now and makes a surprisingly good KISS carbine.
If not I have a few things I'm thinking about.
A. 727 clone- basically a fixed-handle M4 clone. Ekie talked about this a while back and it sounded good to me. The big question with a 727 clone is should I leave it at 16" or have the bbl cut back to 14.5 and add a perm A2.
B. M4 clone- his would mean replacing the upper with a flat top. This is the most expensive, but also most useful option. Again do I leave it at 16" or cut back to 14.5 and go with the perm A2.
I see pros and cons to each option and I just wanted to get some input from you guys.
