Quoted: If his action will work with prefits it would push me over the edge. He has proven he can make repeatable and accurate semi actions. I am expecting the same from a bolt action. But honestly I am flush with the “creedmores” now. I would love to see some Norma’s…. View Quote Highly unlikely. With that handguard I'm sure its a proprietary barrel nut and extension designed for quick take-downs or barrel changes. |

View Quote If it’s like the Siete from the past, it’ll be a threaded barrel tenon that’s torqued to spec, with no barrel nut. If he’s cutting the barrels and the receiver tolerances are tight, prefits could be made. Whether other vendors provide them is another story. There used to be a video of him changing or torquing a barrel for it. He had it in a vice and used a torque wrench. |

I cant find it now, but I saw him call it a "concealable sniper rifle" in a reply to a IG comment. I would be surprised it's a shouldered barrel and requires a barrel vise for swapping barrels
eta: and in this IG post he mentions taking the barrel off between shots |

You could probably torque it down to the low 40ft/lbs he’s calling out in the chassis, but I’m not sure how much stress that would put on the action screws. |

he just posted a video on barrel install. Should be easy enough to swap barrels "in the field"

How many years of 2 weeks away are we at this point? Wish this woulda stayed with a wood stock but here we are.
Guess I’ll wait and see what the price point will be |

That being said it would be super kick ass if there were some considerations into using something similar to the Magpul Masada/ bushmaster ACR barrel swap design. If I remember correctly bushmaster ditched the rifle because of gas issues between different cartridges and barrel lengths. They had a lot of failures and never unfucked the design. Mind you this was a semi automatic. But the big brains at bushmaster didn’t address the failures systematically. They just stopped making them. The actual fix is ridiculously simple. I’m not giving away my fix for their design here. That being said, their might be some patent issues using that design that can be easily overcome with some simple improvements. If Mark gets stuck, I’d be glad to help. Anyone have a link to the design that’s not Instagram? Actually if this is done properly, the rifle would easily compete with the new Sig rifles. It would definitely be a better rifle and adaptable to different force requirements on the go. It would be a very good thing to put something like this into the hands of Mil service and Americans alike. |

They make quality stuff, you have to wait for it. but I have to say I dont care for the look of their chassis. LaRue is kinda hit or miss in the aesthetics dept. I am a huge fan of their quad rails and their mounts. Dont care for the bolt gun and their miss matched upper/lower kind of annoys me a bit.

as a guy who doesn't load the accuracy seems to be par with the semi autos larue sells what is the advantage of the bolt? is it that much lighter to carry than a tobr?
im sure ill pick one up for testing purpose's but for me im not sure what id actually do with it other than enjoy the beauty mark builds into his products, thats where a nice wood stock would really set off the action. |

So . “In two weeks” it’s really happening . You gotta watch for the newsletter mark said . Man I’ve had two kids and got promoted twice since the beginning of all of this .

I like the chassis system but I am really hoping there will be a wood stock option down the line to really make this the most universal rifle I own.

The Siete has been like 7 years in waiting. Was having trouble sleeping and I found an email from Mark from 5:30ish PM. ITS HAPPENING. Deposit down and in the que...
Will admit, it is not the same Siete that I handled about 3 years ago. Kind of wish it was - that was the Siete pistol. Guess Mark got concerned with the attempts to outlaw heavy rifle caliber pistols. Oh, well - maybe, just maybe I might have 2 new hunting rifles this year - was Jonesing of a 300 win mag, but... Looks like a 6.5 Creedmore with a 308 as a spare barrel. 243 would have been fun, but I have too many active calibers already. Once upon a time, LaRue said they would not release this until they had stock ready to ship - that was when 2 more weeks came into being. Maybe now it is actually 2 more weeks... |

As much as I wanted a Siete, I’ll wait for the walnut and wood as originally promised.
Honestly the Q-Fix does everything this does but with half the weight. At 10 pounds before optic it’s too heavy for a mountain/walking stalking rifle, and arguably too light for a PRS gun. It falls into an odd spot, that seemingly has no niche. I will say for current market value, the 2899 with a spare barrel is beyond fair. |

I've lost all interest. Deposit for a spot in line with no shipping timeline.
Wonder how many folks are going to jump on this, then in 2 months start making new post crying about how they haven't gotten their Siete yet. The writing is on the wall. |

I waited 2 years for my Lage .556 MAC upper and have waited plenty of time on other NFA stuff.
I can wait. 6.5 with .308 barrel ordered. |

How do y'all plan on using this rifle? The comment above about it not having it's own niche seems accurate.
I hope I'm wrong and this thing is badass in every way. I'd like to hunt with it but damn she's a heavy girl. |

Hard to say. I would have preferred it lighter for stalking. Still, it will be slightly less ungainly than the RPR that I got years ago while waiting for this.

FYI, if you are ordering, don't change your mind on the second barrel after you order... you will have to cancel your order and submit a new one...

As someone who generally like LaRue products and who owns a Tranquilo (giving me some priority in purchasing), I'm going to pass on his. Don't really like the stock. Unclear what kind of accuracy you'll get (the only thing I've heard is sub MOA). And I'm not really sure what niche this fills. For me, I want a bolt gun for precision shooting. And at nearly $3000 I think there are a lot better options with a proven track record. An extra barrel and the ability to switch out one barrel for another is a nice feature in theory, but I'm not sure how often I'd use it.
Now if he'd brought it in for around $1,500, which was the original price, it would be a lot harder to resist. |
