Quoted: Dude! Aye solved that issue! If you have deep sills like ours (thick wall brick house, flat inner sill around 3.5 inches), get 2 or 3 inch black automotive foam (cheap) that can be purchased and shipped in any size, 4'x'4 or 4'x8' are nice, then cut with straightedge to fit a given opening. Has a nice compression talent if you cut it slightly oversized. No muss-no fuss, total blackout conditions! When you don't have darkening curtains you are up around 0500 when the sun comes up. We've still got blackout curtains from when I was working nights. The light that bleeds over the top at the curtain rod still wakes me up. aluminum foil on yer winders I did garbage bags over them initially. That wall faces east so it gets hit with sun all morning, the bags radiated the heat into the room. I've got 2x blackout curtains on my bedroom windows for that very reason. Still enough light to wake me up by 6 am or so in the summer Dude! Aye solved that issue!
