Probably already asked - but is it possible to get the kit without the charging handle/gas block (already have a set of those that are super nice) and I don't see a 16.5" handguard in the drop down?

Anyone have velocity numbers for the 18" vs. 22" barrels? 20-25 FPS per inch sound about right?

So I read above that some folks have used the VLTOR a5 tubes with a PRS gen3 stock. Would this require an a5 buffer as well?
Can you recommend a OEM style carbine extension that would work with both the PRS as well as the RAT stock if I want to switch periodically? |

Will just a milspec carbine extension work? View Quote LaRue's extension doesn't work with the Gen 3 PRS because it has about a half inch thick of metal at the end of it, making it slightly too long externally. However, the Vltor A5 tube is short enough externally (and even very slightly longer internally than the LaRue AR10 extension) to fit a Gen 3 PRS while still allowing the AR10 carbine buffer system to function as designed. I'm using an A5 tube on my .308 UU right now with no issues using the spring and buffer that came with the UU kit, and it currently has a PRS on it. All components work without modification. As for the RAT stock, you might want the RE10/A5SR version of the tube instead of the standard A5. While both have the same internal and external length and will work with both stocks, the detent holes line up differently. The standard A5 allows a long stock (like the Vltor Emod) to collapse completely, but a shorter stock (like a CTR or RAT) will bottom out before it gets to the shortest position. If you care about that, the RE10/A5SR (like the LaRue extension) has all its detent holes set further back so a standard length carbine stock will lock in when collapsed as far as it will go. The longer tube does mean it won't collapse all the way to the receiver, but you'll have a bit more structural strength if you need to mortar, and you won't have to worry about it moving out on you if you absentmindedly push it all the way in like you would with a regular A5. Magpul's SR25/M110 Enhanced Receiver Extension should work as well without modification, and I think BCM and others make similar tubes too. Plenty of options to make it work. |

Does anyone have any MV data (with or without temps) on the Hornady American Gunner 140 gr BTHP ammo from either 18 or 22 barrels?
So,
I didnt see anyone posting this, but I’m curious if anyone else is having this problem: The lockup between my OBR lower receiver and the new 6.5CM upper is sloppy. By sloppy, it mean there is enough play that you can visably move the upper back and forth from side to side, similar to a USGI 1911 when holding the slide and the frame and shaking! This is in stark contrast to the 7.62 upper that came with the OBR - that has no play at all. Originally, I though the KeyMod rail was loose, there was so much play between the new Ultimate Upper and the OBR lower. I’m suprised, and a little dispointed. Anyone else see this? |
Rock solid here, but it's a new lower I bought from larue. Goes on my FDE Heavy lower nice and snug as well.
Have a large and small UU with matching LaRue lowers. They both lock up tight just like all of the complete rifles I have from LaRue. Both UUs and lowers are FDE. Maybe the cerakote makes the fit tighter.

Placed an order last night for a UU kit and lower in UDE. Not very familiar with 6.5CM but hope to find out more! Just to be sure can anyone confirm that I’m good to run my Surefire SOCOM 762 can on it? From what I’ve read it’s good to go. Also will a Standard 5/8x24 SOCOM brake in 762 work fine for the 6.5CM? Thanks!
Yes to both. The SOCOM 7.62 brake and can will work on a 6.5 CM. The 6.5 CM uses a .264 bullet which is a smaller diameter than a .308/7.62 bullet. The 6.5 CM barrel thread pitch is 5/8x24 just like a .308 barrel.

Well wife was away today, so I dedcided to clean up some parts... Of the 3 stealth 2's I got, 2 are waiting for the engraver, but the Creedmore was just sitting there. Now it is a rifle rather than boxes of parts.
Not it sure when I will actually load it. Need to do some range work first. |

The Academy Hornady Black and the American Gunner are the exact same FYI.
I get about .75" groups with it out of my 22" LaRue. |
