Looks like the 260 Sparrel from the FDE Heavy buy is going on the EE and a new 6.5 Creedmoor will be inbound. Good timing since I hadn't bought the 260 supplies yet, but I already load 6.5 Creedmoor. View Quote |

Called in the order this morning (FDE 22" 260). Perfect timing on the gift card Mark. They had no idea lowers would be offered until they heard about Mark's post yesterday. No word yet on if the lowers will be offered in designer palettes.

Anyone know if the chrome LaRue BCG/ bolt includes a high pressure bolt? I already purchased a JP Enterprise high pressure bolt/ carrier in hopes of getting a 260 Sparrel for my tOBR heavy. If not, guess I'll just have an extra LaRue 7.62 BCG laying around. 1st world problems and whatnot.

I don't think I've ever gotten an email for Build AR list. That's why I was asking about this. No point in buying the upper if I can't get a lower. I already have a tObR with .308 and .260 barrels. So I don't actually NEED a 6.5 but I'll get one if I can end up with a complete rifle. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

A few questions before I buy the 6.5CM. 1. Will lowers be offered in FDE? 2. How will I be notified about the ability to buy a lower? Thanks. 2. Electronic Mail. Let's not over complicate this, according to Mark's post, if you buy one you'll someday get an email to buy a lower. |

Waiting on my GC to deliver. Stopped at my local fleet farm and noticed they had 8 factory loads for creedmore and 0 for .260. I also have a friend shooting creedmore so looks like that's what I'll order. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I wonder if the PST can be switched from the 260 to the 6.5 CM. Would be nice to have when shooting suppressed. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I started playing with the superlative blocks this year. Fit and function is great, with its dual gas handling of either bleed off out the front of the block or blow out, like other adjustable, out the barrel.
Just got this months American Rifleman. Front cover is a picture of Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor. Looks like a long pill. |

Not sure if I'm going to be able to resist this one. Can't really decide on the 16" 7.62 or the 18" Creedmoor.
Any idea on weights? |
|
Does anyone know what lowers will work with this?
Or, which ones can be confirmed as non-compatible? |
|
Are the LaRue and SMOS lowers interchangeable? (Vs the DPMS?)

Here's a SMOS Large frame lower with my .260 Tobr upper.
SMOS1 SMOS2 LaRue lower and SMOS Lower LaRue and SMOS other side |

How do you like the fit between the upper and lower? Looks like SMOS has FDE lowers. Not sure how it would match with LaRue FDE but I would like an option in case the LaRue lowers take years to be offered. I know it will be 2 weeks, but like to have my bases covered. View Quote |

I have an SMOS Upper I built earlier this year, in their Cerakote FDE. It is nowhere close to the same color as any of my Larue FDEs. The texture is completely different from the UU as well. If you want color match, I'd suggest getting black and having everything done my the same shop with the same product and color.

The barrel is dimpled for the supplied gas block, by design. Rather than trying to match up holes, you might want to go clamp on. I use he clamp on SA blocks and they work flawlessly.

Is there a specific sentry 7 or superlative gas block (set screw) that would fit on a 16 inch Larue barrel included in this kit??? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Nope, but you can get a sentry 7 or superlative gas block with more adjustment. The set-screw spacing is .450" on the LaRue barrels. At least it was on the two barrels (Stealth and PredatAR) I've ordered from them. SLR Rifleworks has a Sentry gas block with this spacing. ** Uses two screws, will align with the 1st and 3rd holes. ETA - M4-AR is correct, this is for the 5.56 barrels, not sure about the heavies. I'd just call LaRue tech support to confirm. |

Same result, but push comes to shove if you find 260r it's only hunting loads. 100% get the 6.5CM. |

Will the M110/SR25 type upper fit and function on an Armalite AR10-B lower?
Will the DPMS type upper fit and function on an Aero M-5 lower? And my biggest question that will greatly influence my choice, will LaRue sell a lower to a CA resident and ship to a CA FFL? It's legal under CA law, the buyer just has to jump through some hoops and build it in a legal configuration. I've asked via the LaRue website e-mail and in this thread and had no response yet. |

Dam you mark,i really want to order one up,but i have a bunch of your large frame ar's already and a toolbox full of triggers.
How about some love for the guys that have been loyal to your tobr program and are sitting pretty on complete. Ar10's. i would live to pick up a few additional barrels and brakes along with a spare bolt carrier group to go with the 3 tobr's,1 obr and the one fde heavy i already have. I would even consider a complete upper if you let us pick a couple barrel options with the upper assembly.not sure i need another ar10 upper but I defiantly need some barrels and spare parts |
|
As long as we all keep buying, they will keep selling....why would any business do it differently?....
|
|
Very interested. Any idea if these large frame uppers would work on the DD5 lower? If so, perhaps the M110 profile or the DPMS.
Of course this would bridge me to the LT lower if/when offered. |
|
Well, I bought the 6.5 Grendel Kit a few weeks ago. Now I'm about to order a 6.5 Creedmoor Kit. No brake required! You're killing me Mark!
You're also killing my OBR 7,62 fund Well, with a 5.56 Lower and 7.62 Lower in the future I'm pretty stoked! |
|
I already purchased a small frame UU kit and didn't even consider a Larue large frame until I saw the email...now you got me thinking of selling one of my one guns to swing it, especially with the promise of lowers
You're killing me Mark!!! Thanks for the opportunity though, great time to be a buyer! |
|
Well, I bit. 22" 6.5 Creedmoor will be added to the arsenal.
Thanks Mark! |

Finally!!! 6.5 creed offerings!!

So much for the PredatOBR system! but hey I already have a lower Make no mistake, the Stealth 2.0 is about as budget friendly as Marks offerings will ever get and there are significant features lost to do that but it's still one heck of a kit and its worth the price. |

The OBR lineup is packed with features not in the stealth 2.0 line. For example, No quick release handguards for fast assembly/disassembly and barrel changes and No adjustable gas block. I'm sure there are other things we can find with a close look. Add in the OBR barrel cartridge with adjustable gas blocks and watch the price climb quickly. Factor in the cost of a lower and the assembly fee and the price climbs to closer to the OBR. If you had to have it assembled and you ordered an OBR barrel cartridge, you'd be at that OBR price and then exceed it when a lower was purchased. Make no mistake, the Stealth 2.0 is about as budget friendly as Marks offerings will ever get and there are significant features lost to do that but it's still one heck of a kit and its worth the price.
