I did a bunch of chrono work, 100yd, and 200yd shooting with the Stealth 2.0 Grendel last Saturday. I still have the Burris 1.5-16x package deal scope and SPR 1.5 mount on it. Great little rifle. http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j422/LRRPF52/65%20Grendel%20Reloading/20171127_100016_zpsi0uizaoa.jpg http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j422/LRRPF52/65%20Grendel%20Reloading/2017-11-262010.56.28_zpsnlsfyzrp.jpg View Quote Max: 2448 Min:2411 Avg: 2433 S-D: 11.4 74.3 degrees; 1132 feet ASL |

Any word on whether Larue will offer the barrel only in 6.5G? My buddy wants to build one but he's on a tight budget.
|
|
Anyone ever have a LaRue barrel chopped and added some sort of fluting? I’m thinking about a 14.5” pinned Grendel barrel UU kit with some fluting to cut weight would be awesome.

Attached File I'm thinking about sending mine to ADCO to have trimmed from 18" to 14.5. I photoshopped some pics of 18" guns sporting TQs to see what they would look like when short and rocking a low power variable like a Kahles k16i. I think i'm gonna do it. ETA: I used Photoshop Oklahoma Edition. |
|
If you did that chop to 14.5.. would you have to get the gas port changed ?
Mine runs perfict now would be scared to fuck with it to much since mark will not sell just a barrle for some reason |
|
If only LaRue had been working on a shorter version of the grendel with a long pinned muzzle brake that would at some point accept a suppressor like covering...

I’m sure this has been covered but how does the Grendel run with the Tranquillo? Does the complete 6.5G rifle come with adjustable or standard gas block?

I would really like to trim it it 14.5" but i am worried about making it less reliable. I cant afford a SURG right now so cutting this back to 14.5 would satisfy my desire for a short rifle with a silencer and not cost too much. Can a competent smith open a gas port up? If so, any special considerations with this new gasblock? |

Now that I’ve read through this whole thread I’m growing impatient to get in my 6.5G. Oh well, I know it will be worth the wait once it ships.

Brownells has a 200 rounds of Hornady Black for $162 delivered with discount code LA9.
The code expires tonight. |

Had a strange issue with my Alexander Arms 4 round mags. The lips contact the bolt carrier and jammed it up while doing a function test. The 10 round mags worked fine. Anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you remedy it?
I thought about filing some off the lip but if there is a better alternative I'm all ears. |

Does anyone have muzzle velocity for the Hornady Black? I have an offer for a free turret but do not have access to a chrono.

My wife surprised me with an order for a complete rifle kit for Christmas. Looks like I just got shipping information on friday for the upper and will be here in a few days. Very excited as I have been wanting one for a while. Also waiting on the lower to be shipped. Will be glad to have it all in stock and Abel to get out and shoot this things as well as take hunting. Originally was going to take on a axis deer hunt, but unfortunately due to weather it fell through. I will be taking out hunting this year though on some of my Disabled Veterans hunts.
What optic sare those using it hunting using? Looked at using the 1-8 Trijicon Accupoint, or the 2-12 Trijicon. I really like the 1-8 and almost got it but instead got the PA Platinum cause I got it with a mount for around 1k. Also looking at some Vortex PST too. I prefer to be able to dial in at distance but also like some type of BDC too for some things. But hunting really a dial in is easier for me at distance with a tripod. Thanks.. |

Sweet! Thats a nice surprise! I am weighing my options currently between the UU kit, Black or FDE. Enjoy.
