That’s pretty sweet, how hard is it to render the videos? I have a 2 year old Mac laptop, could it do it?

Im battling between that and the 59
I really like the open center on the 59... Its simple if you are able to ignore what you dont need. |

For the large frame UU kits, what aftermarket barrels/barrel extensions would fit?

I'm using a Sig kilo, just get the one with the biggest range you can afford.
I had hoped they would allow a kestral link, there were talks of it but they aren't doing it. If you get the abm version they come with the weather stuff. The vortex might be okay but they let me down too many times to trust them again |

View Quote Of course when you said the Leica 2800 would pair with the Kestrel, that meant that I needed to upgrade from my Leica 2700. So this thread continues to provide good reasons to spend money. |

My Lecia (forger the exact model) is hard to use on torso sized targets at a good distance. The circle reticle is bigger than the target and I assume to lasers they shoot out to find the distance it to wide of an array on smaller targets.

This is interesting.
I have a Swarovski STS80 arriving this week: I wanted one of the STRs with a ranging eyepiece, but they are a bit expensive (like $4,000). Ranging eyepieces are a sore subject as many manufactures do not make them or have made them and discontinued them so they're like hen's teeth. Spotters with a ranging reticle vary in the quality of their glass so you generally have to make some compromises between glass quality and overall price. Add in that it appears Hensoldt's customer service has gone way downhill with so many ownership changes, and you may not be getting what you hoped you paid for. So, as I do at 5am, I was poking around the interweb and discovered two relevant threads: Page 2, post 57 starts a relevant discussion, which leads you to another thread. The older Vortex 30x eyepiece is pretty hard to find, but the Burris is still available. So, I jumped on Scopelist and found one and asked they match the Amazon pricing (because the Amazon one won't ship until next month) and we'll see if I can get ranging eyepiece upgrade for the STS for under $200. It appears the focal length is just a tad different in the Burris spotter and STS, which makes the Burris eyepiece 0.6% under the equivalent STS eyepiece. For $200, versus the $+2000 for the STR eyepiece, I think I can live with a half percent. ETA - Scopelist just accepted my offer and it appears I snagged the last one in stock. I had to pay tax, but they gave me free shipping so the cost was under $200! Now to see how they match up and work. |
