Heads Up to all that have BuildAR gift cards. I just called to use 1 of my 4 cards to purchase the tranquillo and the Sales Dept. could only find information in their system on 2 of the cards. They've given all the serial numbers of the cards to "the Drunken IT Guy" who I had the fortune to meet last weekend at the DSC show. A huge shoutout to Brent to manning the booth and answering all my questions as well as the DSC Dillo.
I would go ahead and confirm that all your cards are active and in good working order just in case after SHOT we hear good things about the Siete. |
|
|
I have never had any issues with my BuildAR gift cards. Used one the other day that was one of the original ones offered several years ago.
|
|
|
I still have all my gift cards to spend.
Thanks for the heads up. |

I will probably get some grief over this suggestion. Having built around 10 or so AR15/AR10 style rifles, with 223 or 308 traditional builds, or 6.5G or 300 Blk, I am constantly trying to justify the next build. Just finished my 224V, and I really like that one using my BuildAR 224 barrel and bolt (yes, took me a while, but I had other builds to do to be ready for my Tranquillo). So now I am into Tranquillo oriented builds, all my rifles have the Larue brake adapter on the off chance I need to run the Tranquillo on it. By the way, my 300 Blackout with Tranquillo and Subsonics has been my pig hunting dream, but it is not silent. Now I am thinking a 22LR dedicated AR style is next, but need a 22LR barrel and BCG (or whatever it is called for a 22lr). Would be nice to have a Larue 22LR barrel with no gas port. Would match up nice with one of my Larue lowers, uppers and slick tinny's just sitting around. Maybe a 16 twist? 40g Subsonics and Tranquillo with a LR brake sounds like a whisper maybe? Sounds like a BuildAR project. Mark?

I think it’s going to be the Siete drop then it will be dead.

So with the delay of the siete, is there anything laying around the shop in excess? Barrels, triggers, Gift Cards for this quarter?

Maybe today?

The last offering was the 13th Quarter on 5/20/19? And we've now missed the 14th (8/15/19), 15th (11/15/19) and 16th (2/15/20) Quarters?
It may not be dead, but it's definitely not breathing. |
|
|
I don't think we will see anything for a while Mark said in the Siete thread that he wants to get all his back orders caught up before releasing it and probably BuildAR as well.

It may be a heathenish thing to say but I kind of wish LaRue made a premium M14; no cast receiver stuff.

^^ I see what you are saying, but let's be honest the UU kits are doing the same thing. Volume over big profits,I would think mark makes way more money on a obr, tobr or a predatAR than a UU kit. Then if we go look at the mbt/204 can mounts that is also a high volume low profit get people talking about larue item.
It seems mark is taking a new approach to selling, personally I liked the days when they were more semi custom and you could order a factory obr decked out how you wanted it, I think it would be great if Mark added drop down menus to his factory guns to add color options, furniture options and handguard options along with caliber options and choice of muzzle devices. I cannot for the life of me understand how I can get all these options on a UU kit for way less money but cannot order a 260 tobr in fde? Or a 6.5 creed OBR as the 20 moa rail was made for a 260 or 6.5 creed. Either way here's to hoping larue has figured the marketing out and is making money by the handfuls and that the buildAR will come back into favor, either way it was a good ride and I love my 3 larue ar pistols I built while on the buildAR program I just wish the all had larue BCG's Pete |

I've always seen the BuildAR project as a funding program for Mark. Every quarter he gets a nice cash injection for his operating costs, delays shipping of product due to discounted nature of items, invests the money into R&D, gov contracts, higher gross profit items, and then eventually kicks us out the stuff we ordered
Not a complaint because I've gotten a bunch of cool shit at discounted prices, but just calling it like is. TBH, I'm fine with the BuildAR going away if my Tranquillo I ordered 5 months ago finally leaves the shop so I can start over on waiting forever |
