Augee,
I am anxiously awaiting what TNVC might try to offer up to those of us that got the short end of the stick. I spent at least half and hour talking to you yesterday about this unit, plus the past almost 4 hours trying to get the order in. Not to mention I sold some extra ammo to coworkers to soften the $$ blow, and broke the news to my wife that the credit card was going to be taking a hit . This was the deal that was going to get me off the fence. I'm very bummed! |

To all who waited patiently during our technical difficulties, thank you for bearing with us, and again, our sincerest apologies. Once again, we have been both overwhelmed and humbled by the response we received to this sale, and specifically the Limited Edition PVS-14. We are currently assessing the situation to determine the best way to address those who diligently waited for the sale and were unable to purchase due to technical difficulties on our end, and we will do our best to try to reach a satisfactory solution. We will do our best to try to resolve this to the best of our abilities for all customers, however we have also made note of everyone who has already responded to this thread stating that they attempted to purchase, but were unable to. We are also making sure to take steps to ensure that nothing like this happens again. Thank you again to all for your patience and understanding, and know that we share your frustration over the technical difficulties that we experienced tonight. Please have a happy and safe Fourth of July, ~Augee View Quote |

I tried for a few hours earlier as well and had a lot of the same technical issues.I was really looking forward to getting one so my wife and I could both have a mono. Frustrating, but understandable and these things happen.

TNVC kicks ass. I've bought a lot of stuff from you guys. My GF's parents don't like my "same shit different day" poster in my home office, so I told them to stay the fuck out of my office!
Then I turned all the lights off.. |

These midnight sales are always a cluster from a traffic standpoint. I decided to pass but hope it works out for everyone.
|

I tried for about an hour last night then said the hell with it. I'm looking into other options at this point.

Hey guys, check out this bad ass black multicam unit on sale you can't purchase
It's the "Supreme" clothing version of night vision! In all seriousness, let us know when/if ever you guys are selling it at the regular price for the rest of us proles. |

Well that sucks. Used to it from the typical midnight sales with Geissele though. Tried for about 2 hours of endless refreshing before giving up due to work. Anyways.
Happy 4th fellas. |

The level of bitching and moaning in this thread is unreal. Some of you would’ve made good red coats.

Maybe TNVC would be gracious enough to put the other filmless version on sale for the rest of us that weren't lucky enough to snag one of their limited edition PVS-14. Pretty please?

I don't know what errors they had, but I'd assume there was a fair amount of planning that went in to the event. Apparently it wasn't enough. |

It was definitely a downer to spend three hours refreshing to no avail.

Will you be having an "oops after 4th tnvc sale" for those of us that didn't get a chance to get one of your nv on sale because of technical difficulties?

As we mentioned in the original ad, these were an extremely limited release--the reality is that in the end, even if the servers had worked flawlessly, not everyone who wanted them would have gotten one.
Nevertheless, because they were issues in the execution on our end, we are still trying to determine what the best option is, because of the limited nature of these exact units and tubes, we cannot really have a "do over" or "reset" on these units, but we are working with our supplier network and assessing how we might be able to redress the issues with this sale. Please stand by for a more formal announcement (likely early next week) that will address the course of action moving forward--again, because of the unusual situation with these units, we could not simply "turn it back on" even if we wanted to. Regarding the server issues--as others have pointed out, we have had some pretty good sales before, however the response to these units was unprecedented and caused an unprecedented amount of traffic to the website--none of our past sales have ever been popular enough to crash the servers , and once we added more resources to the servers, half a platoon's worth of PVS-14s sold in less than five minutes--we knew that these would be popular, but even we underestimated just how popular these would be--and no, it was not a matter of someone placing an order for multiple units that wiped out stock, either. We are of course very pleased and heartened not only to have been able to extend the deal to those who were able to get these units, but also the extremely high level of overall excitement and anticipation of the community for night vision technology, including many first time purchasers getting into NV, but obviously the technical issues in getting the sale off the ground have cast a bit of pall on the whole thing, and again, we are working on determining the best course of action to move forward and try to satisfy as many customers, both new and repeat, as we can, and most of all, ensure the further growth of the night vision community. Meanwhile, the rest of our sales items are still on line and still on sale at the correct sale prices, including $265 Wilcox L4 G11 mounts, $400 ATOM Glock slides, and $209 Torch Pro MKIIs. ~Augee |

Quoted: So what was it that made these tubes so "limited" or "exclusive"? I'm not the most well versed on NV so I'll defer to the experts. This sale/response proves there is a serious market for stuff that's priced this way. I'd recommend taking note and seeing how you can appeal to more customers. I've never done business with TNVC though I hear very good things about you guys and how you take care of customers. It also appears you make/provide good products again based on the response. I'll say however that over the years of following you guys that I've never been impressed with your pricing or sales. You always seem to be high compared to others (and that may be an ignorant observation due to lack of product knowledge) and previous sales were meager in the value department. Your reputation of customer support and knowledge however may be worth the price of admission. The point I'm trying to make here is that this offering got people excited in a way I don't think TNVC has done before. It nearly got me to finally join the game. Consider finding ways to have more offerings like this and I think it would pay off. View Quote With that in mind, up until relatively recently thin-filmed was leading the pack. These sales units were WP in color (user sees white as opposed to green eyes) and thin-filmed. Some people report they perceive favorable differences in white images vs green images, easier on the eyes etc. So these 4th of July units had the relatively new white color but are still the thin-filmed technology most of us are familiar with. With that said latest & greatest thin-filmed pinnacle tubes are absolutely amazing and, at least for me, the specs coming out of TNVC's thin filmed pinnacle units seem to always have what I'd consider superior specs. Based on my reading here you would be seeing something like this (made up numbers): Pinnacle thin filmed: SNR 29 Resulution 64 Filmess SNR 32 Resolution 72 So, while these 4th of July units may not have had the potential of a filmless tube they are still great tubes that almost anyone would be thrilled to have. The difference here is that these would be WP in color which may enhance the user experience some without paying the huge money for a filmless WP. I see it as a potential improvement on an already very nice pinnacle thin filmed green tube while still saving $1000+ over the latest & greatest filmless WP units. Plus you still get the 10 yr warranty, a fancy paint job etc. What's not to like? I think that's why there was so much excitement. That said, y'all lucky few who did get an order to go through be sure to tell use what kind of numbers you are seeing on the spec sheets. Inquiring minds want to know. |

Quoted: I'm no expert, but I did read up a bunch on these sales units before deciding I was going to (unsuccessfully attempt to) get one. The WP that we read about most often here are filmless WP--i.e. someone figured out how to improve on the previous technology (thin-filmed) to a point where it was possible to have a filmless tube that didn't destroy itself in use. Previously the thin film was necessary to keep the tube from gathering too much light and it would damage itself. The new adaptation allows for more light to enter the device which is why you see the comments about exceptional filmless performance in extremely dark conditions when compared to thin-filmed. From what I can gather if you want the very best right now filmless WP is where it's at---but you got to get your big boy wallet out for it. I tried to buy one. These units hit the right cost to performance ratio to make me want to buy my first night vision. Now that I've been bit by the bug I have been thinking of getting a MOD3 after selling a couple rifles and body parts. Can you work with me on the price for one of those one can at least keep one kidney?

The reason these units were limited was because they were an overrun that we were able to acquire, so we were able to pass on special pricing, a "regular production" unit, so to speak, would not be able to be priced the same way.
FWIW--we sell our similarly spec'ed green Thin-Filmed OMNI VIII TNV/PVS-14s black, basic kit for $3,195. This is not to say that these green or white, are not good units, they're fantastic units--but we also made clear to everyone who we spoke to about these, that these were not the $4,020 Unfilmed White Phosphor units that were suddenly being offered for almost $1,000 less. Regardless, rest assured that we are doing a thorough postmortem on this sale and how to proceed from there. ~Augee |

You spoke, and we listened!
We at TNVC were incredibly humbled by the overwhelming response to our Limited Edition Thin-Filmed White Phosphor TNV/PVS-14 units this 4th of July. The response was so overwhelming in fact, that it overwhelmed our servers resulting in numerous technical problems with our online eCommerce platform that prevented many customers who had diligently waited for the sale to begin from being able to purchase one of these units. We knew that these Limited Edition units would be extremely popular, however we underestimated exactly how popular they would be. These were a unique item that has not been part of our normal product line or portfolio, so we did not anticipate how much excitement they would bring. Unfortunately, because of the unique circumstances that allowed us to offer those units, we cannot repeat our 4th of July Sale exactly—and while there were an extremely limited number of units and we knew that it was likely that not everyone who wanted one would be able to purchase one, because the technical issues with our website contributed to some customers being unable to purchase one of the Limited Edition units, we have decided both to add L3 Thin-Filmed White Phosphor OMNI VIII units to our regular product line, and offer a special Post-Independence Day Sale to our valued customers: For a limited time only, from today, Monday, July 9, 2018 to Wednesday, July 11, 2018 we will be offering our L3 OMNI VIII Green Phosphor Thin-Filmed units at the same price as our Limited Edition units, starting at $2,998 (regular price starting at $3,195): https://tnvc.com/shop/fourth-of-july-special-tnvpvs-14-l3-gen3-green-phosphor-thin-filmed/ At the same time, we will also be offering L3 OMNI VIII Thin-Filmed White Phosphor units at a special introductory price starting at $3,195: https://tnvc.com/shop/post-independence-day-special-tnvpvs-14-l3-omni-viii-gen3-white-phosphor-thin-filmed/ These special sale units will be offered in the same, limited edition Multicam Black finish, as well as TNVC’s standard 10-year warranty on all of our TNV/PVS-14 units. This special introductory price is only valid during this sale! Once this sale ends, we will continue to offer L3 Thin-Filmed White Phosphor units in our normal range of finishes (black, FDE, and Multicam) to provide customers with an intermediate option between our Green Thin-Filmed OMNI VIII units, and our premium, Unfilmed White Phosphor units. Please be aware that because all TNV/PVS-14s are essentially semi-custom units and will need to be newly built, that normal lead times will apply to units purchased during our Post-Independence Day sale. Thank you, TNVC Team |
