I recently shot one of my buddy's rifles and he's got a BCM stock on it. Thought it was really comfortable, but I had a problem. I broke my right wrist pretty badly a long time back, plates and screws, 8 months of PT, and I never got back to 100% grip strength. It seems to me that the spring on the adjustment lever/latch of the Gunfighter is WAY heavier than on all my Magpul stuff. Like, I physically couldn't squeeze it with my right hand. Left (non dominant) hand got it there with some effort. Is that normal, or was it just the stock I handled? I would totally believe it if you told me it was intentional, because it would certainly help with the rock solid reputation of the stock.
If it is intentional, is there any way to reduce the spring weight?
If it's not intentional, compared to a Magpul CTR or milspec stock, how strong is the spring usually?
I'd like to figure out a way to make this stock work for me, and I admit the answer may just be to get some Captains of Crush for my left hand and deal with it.
