All I will say is it must be nice to be filthy rich and afford all that stuff. I get excited when I have a few bucks leftover on payday to grab a couple boxes of ammo at Wal Mart. I couldn't imagine what it must be like to be able to do stuff like that all the time. Some people that go to these classes do have money, some don't. I the year I went was the year I was working at WALGREENS. Not making much there, but the class was something I wanted to do so I saved up. Did you dress up with all that gear those guys are wearing or did you just stick to a KISS setup? I would think the gear probably cost as much as the class itself. This may come as a shock but playing dress-up and stroking yourself to the thought of all your fancy gear isn't the reason for taking a class like this. The lesson's learned are the point, not how good you look doing it. Doing both is good if you can pull it off but don't sacrifice the former in favor of the latter. These courses have an equipment list on the trainer's website and it is surprisingly basic. I'm a professional construction bum. When I went to Pueblo last year I wore Redwings, Dickies and a orange fleece-lined windbreaker with reflective strips. Much fun was made of the windbreaker, but I was warm dammit. Results count, style is superfluous. Ek |

If you are just a civilian and you find yourself caught out as the 'first responder' in an active shooter scenario, are you going to take an extra few minutes to grab all of your tactical crap out of the trunk or will you just grab your rifle and extra mag? I am a big fan of running courses of fire in street clothes with extra mags jammed into the pockets. Better mimics what you will be wearing if you ever have to bust your rifle out in public. |

What are these ear plugs this shooter using? They are fitted ear plugs made by Ear Inc. I believe they are the Insta-Mold ear plugs. |

Thanks!

It's not a chest rig, it's an armor carrier made by Eagle Ind. It's a non cataloged (not avalible) item.
Hope this helps. |

One of Jimmy's kids gave that to him for (Father's day or his Birthday) if memory serves me correctly.
He's gotten more complements on that hat than I've seen on any other piece of head gear. |

If you are talking about the guy with the Afgan hat ... It was a class clown moment .... great dude to be around .... never a dull moment

Could someone post the specs on the Navy Qual course, please? I'd like to give it a try. Awesome pix, btw. 5 standing, speed reload, 5 kneeling, speed reload, 5 prone, 25 second par time @ 50 yards. Doesn't sound too hard. Thanks! |

Bro, I gotta say thanks for posting all this info and the pictures are about the best I have seen posted in an after action of a training.
I usually try and get one or two classes in per year.....and I am always impressed with people who get this much trigger time in. My hat is off to Carroll B, very inspiring...I have to admit some of the classes I have been to I really want to stay in the hotel room some mornings after being hot, sore, and tired for 8-12 hours on the range. I will think of Carroll when I get like this and keep trucking on. Thanks again, Romper |

Is UVvis left handed, or was he just giving the rest of you a chance to win this year by shooting weakside?
