I got out in 2003, but was deployed to Iraq on a MEU in 2001 before 9/11 and again in 2003 before the start. Both times we were one of the first to get there. My dd 214 doesnt show any of the awards from those times other then the expeditionary medal. I know they have issued the GWOT medal for those times. Whaat would be the best way to get an updated list of medals and awards?

I would go through your local Representative. They work on that stuff all the time. If you want it to be official you'll need to get a DD-215, Correction to DD-214.

In 2006 I had to update my records for awards earned prior to my EAS but not received until after and then again during the time I was recalled for the Iraq invasion.  At the time I submitted my paperwork to the Service Awards Section.  I can't find any contact info for it anymore.  I sent in copies of my two DD214s, some SRB stuff, orders maybe?, award citations and anything else I had the proved I was in theater for the Afghan and Iraq campaigns.  Plus a letter stating what awards I rated and why. Well nine month later I finally heard back and got a DD215 with the additions.

Which MEU's?

15th both times. Left in August of 2001 and then again in Jan of 2003.
