The nation's highest military award, the Medal of Honor, is made of solid brass and then gold plated, which costs about $30.00. The equivalent civilian award, known as the Congressional Gold Medal, is made of solid gold and costs about $30,000. Currently, legislation has been proposed to make the MOH out of solid gold instead of gold plated brass. Anyone want to bet that it won't pass? Semper Fi. Gunhamr
