Nice ride, I'd hit it like there's no tomorrow

Does your '06 CVI have ballistic protection doors?

Good looking ride. Is that an LED bar?

We have pursuit rated Tahoes with LED's but the lenses are clear.

Sharp looking car man, I like that color scheme. Looks like the light bar is a strobe-led combo. Not real crazy about your light switch setup and stuff, though. The cars here used to have something similar but now the switches look a lot more... "modern". Nice car man.

Good looking ride. I like the lo-pro light bar and tinted windows, i been begging some of the higher-ups in our department to tint the windows on all our cars, but its looking like a lost cause.

thats a beautiful car, im also wondering about this ballistic protection package doors thing, does that mean that ford is dropping steel plates in the door of their interceptor package Vics now or kevlar or something?

needs the nicer hubcaps, but other than that, looks good.

No it doesn't. It's a police car, it ain't supposed to have spinners.

I said hubcaps, not spinners

Example:

http://www.sportcraftcars.com/autoart/police/aart72703.jpg

They are maybe 3 dollars a piece.

I understand that it is a police car/work vehicle, not a personal vehicle, but if it's yours for 2 years, I'd spend a Small amount of money to make it look a little nicer.

Just my .02

Bingo.

Little caps look tougher.
They protect the lug nuts and bolts from rust.
They allow more airflow to the brakes.
They don't go flying off like fullsized hubcaps do, REGULARLY.

Other than than they are great.

Nice ride!

I'm sitting in my '05 which just turned 17K miles, surfing Arfcom on my new Dell laptop with my personal wireless internet card and getting paid $20/hour to babysit a gravel pit.

I'd much rather be home but I've got to admit, sometimes this job ain't all that bad.

My new unmarked '06 Wimpala is to be done tomorrow. I would rather have the Ford or Dodge Charger-V8 instead.

I wish my county would buy more CVPI's.  We have a few but the majority of our fleet  is IMPALA's.  Although one of our SGT's just got a brand new 3.5L Dodge Charger.  Pretty clean looking if you ask me.

Nice looking ride.  I read that the new 06 CVPI will have a level II ballistic rating using some type of aramid material in the doors.

Thanks to all... and to address the questions:

No ballistic panels in doors that I know about...

Light bar is strobes outboard with the latest IR6 LED heads inboard. The IR6 heads are brighter and more intense than the strobes easily. It also has two Whelen Talon LED stand alones on the back deck

It will be *UGLY* if someone pukes in the back anytime soon...

I'm not crazy about the switch box or the radio. I had much better equipment in the 2001 slick top I had at the department I left in 2001 to come to the S.O.. It works though.

I work nights only so the window tint is good at times and bad at times. Overall I'd prefer tinted though.

I much prefer the "baby moons". Less flash when I'm trying to go in blacked out on something. Never been a fan of chrome on a police car.

We have a couple of Chargers being built for the Interstate unit. I'll try to get a few shots when they are done.

Oh, and I meant to say... my favorite thing about it by far is the Kustom Digital Eye Witness camera system. Much better than the damned 8mm Sony Handycam systems we are getting away from. I hated those pieces of crap.

Nice ride.

Do you leave the stock door panels in the back?   Ours have the back gutted and kick panels bolted to the doors.

NorCal

Yeah, we keep the original panels. I'd like to have the modular rear seat with the panels like you're talking about.
