I found there had been a theft from the parking lot of work last weekend. I was the only one there so I called the boss and the sheriff dept.

A deputy came by promptly and collected some information regarding the incident. He gave me a card with his contact info and the case number. We exchanged some minor small talk.
He was professional and courteous.

No dogs were shot and I was not tasered.

Sounds like your incident was similar to thousands of others that happen every day (the ones that don't make the news).

Must have been too close to end of watch.

Fortunately, fire did not arrive. We frequently beg the cops for a chance to squeeze the trigger the second time.
