We are all blue here we all hang out heads when we hear one of our own do wrong! We all have a tear in our eye when one of our brothers or sisters goes down!

Yet we never seem tell our brothers and sisters from another how proud we are of them or at least not enough!

Las Vegas Police, Clark county Sheriff's department! You all did a hell of a job Sunday night with the crazy gunmen! We all know that you wish you could have saved more people that night!

What we do know is that crazy sadly did cut 58 peoples lives short. Yet if not by the swift actions of the officers and deputy of these department we are happy too not know how many more lives could have been lost! Thank you!

Also to the paramedics, EMT, Hospital ER staff and any first responder on or off duty you all also deserve a big thank you for all the lives you also saved! Thanks you!

Stay safe! God speed and thank you for all you did that night! Seeing how well you all handled that situation should make  us all in Blue hold our head up high!

They did an excellent job. And without it a lot more lives would have been lost.

What about the guy that actually confronted the shooter? Unarmed...

This guy

At a news conference, Sheriff Joe Lombardo spoke of Campos' heroism. "His bravery was amazing ... because he remained with our officers providing
the key pass to access to the door and actually clear rooms. His officers demanded he seek medical attention," said Lombardo.

Police say as Campos approached Paddock's door, Paddock fired 200 rounds in the hallway. One of the bullets hit Campos in the leg.

We got word Thursday that we will now be getting plate carriers on all of our rigs after what happened. Our Ops supervisor addressed it to everyone.

We had 21 medics and emts at the event, plus the 10 or so rigs we had arrive to transport after the fact. It's nothing short of a miracle that all of them came out physically unharmed, including the owners daughter.

Seems they are on board with 60k in equipment trumps any loss of life lawsuit. All of the fire guys and PD in our AO have had them for years, and all of them who responded had them equipped. Edit: Except for the private EMS companies. AFAIK AMR and Medic West still won't/don't provide carriers for employees, the medics and emt's have to buy their own.

Had one of the LVMPD guys at the airport tell me, after being dumbstruck, it must clang when we walk because we rolled into what was at the time an active shooter in nothing but t-shirts and started triaging people with zero protective gear other than eye pro.

13 years on the job, that's the second active shooter I've responded to. The day after I finally bought my own carrier with level 4's from Infidel, got it in the mail Wednesday.

I'd always advocate buying your own rig if you can afford to do so that way you can get higher quality, lighter gear then whats issued.

Props. Most of our FF/EMT's aren't going anywhere near a scene until its C4.
