And you expected what from those bunch of ingrates?
Those same ass holes that claim they would shoot a cop to "protect" their rights, are the same bunch you have to comfort at Two in the morning after a suspicious noise call! (cat on roof)

Some people don't understand.  I'm just beginning to understand.  That's only after going through the hiring process, ride alongs and many hours of interviewing officers.  I'm on the elgibility list for our pd. I'm just a normal guy who likes to help people.

Most of the people I work with (telecom) ask what kinds of things I've seen on ride alongs.  When I tell them about calls. I don't think they can really register it.  Officers work long hours for little pay and deal with some really nasty things.  If you're an average joe your only interaction with the PD is a speeding ticket.  Any time you have interaction with the PD it most likely will be stressful because it's out of the ordinary. Officers all want to help people and do the right thing.
But most of all they want to go home at the end of their shift.
So pray for the safety of all of those who serve.
And pray for the other injured motorist.

Sorry a trooper died....doesn't excuse your behavior though...

Wrapped a bit too tight around the axles five-0?

As for suspicious noises on roof.....

I'd shoot cat too, but only if it got really out of hand. [:P]

What is a 10-48 in your state?

Here it's for response to a fire alarm.  I've often wondered why 10 codes aren't standardized.

My behavior?

Demordrah, 10-48 is officer needs assistance. I did not even think that it would be foreign to some/most!

You are right. Standardization is needed.

Yeah, in here calling people assholes, on the original thread bickering and name calling, etc.  They are good posts, you are on the internet...some will agree, some will disagree, some will be assholes.  Just post and get the hell out of dodge.

The BTT is a bit over the top......maybe just respond to one of the other mourners in the thread.  Or just post them here with a tack and keep adding on to one post...

I have often thought that is what Johnny_Reno should do with his Pics in the News.....

Do what you want, but responding directly to the assholes makes you look like the bigger asshole.

I am debating with people I disagree with. It has devolved at times because I do get a bit angered at the callous disrepect shown to the officers and at the incessant attacks on our profession. I am beating my head against a brick wall but I guess that is my choice.

I respect your opinion, but mine differs.

Here:

"Get me another unit" assistance needed, non emergency.
10-48 Officer needs assistance (pretty hot)
00 "Double Zero" Officer needs all possible assistance

Want to have fun come on down here.  We mix 10 codes and "signal" codes.  No one outside the dept knows what the hell we're talking about.

Example:  "I'm 23 on a possible signal 3, I need a signal 1, at least two  75's, a CSU, an ET, and a 21 to Homicide."

Admin wants to spend big bucks on encrypting our radios traffic,  supposedly for anti terror concerns.

Who in the heck can figure out what we're saying anyway?

10-48 is an injury accident in Kansas.

To bad we cant all use the same 10 codes.
But never let a little common sense get in
the way of ......................
