Their union lines the campaign coffers of whomever the current governor is. $70,000 is a bit high. The personnel Board lists their salary range from $33,708 to $54,888 annually. The Exam Bulletin is at; [url]http://jobs.spb.ca.gov/openxrd.cfm?exc=1CEC0[/url]
They are getting a massive raise in the near future after a $500,000 donation to Grey Davis. They will be making more than CHP officers after all is said and done. |

I wouldn't mind $70k a year. 1911greg..anytime you deal with the dregs of society, be it in law enforcement, social work or the medical field..you earn every cent.
The most important asset or trait you need to be a Correctional Officer is common sense. Degree's won't give you that. Life will though if you learn from your mistakes. |

Corrections officers around here make $10-$12 per hour. Not enought for me for all the aggrevation.
