Last night my grandfather who is 91 years young fell and broke his hip. After a very long day of not knowing much I finally learned he is tentatively scheduled for surgery in the morning to repair it. The cardiologists has a few things to go over before she gives the final go ahead, but we are hoping for the best. If you could please keep him in your prayers for surgery tomorrow. I will post as soon as I hear anything tomorrow.
Thanks ladies.

Update
Grandpa made it through surgery fine. He should be released from the hospital sometime midweek to a nursing home for rehab. How long he stays there is dependant on how well he recoups with therapy.
Thank you everyone.

Update #2
Grandpa was released from the hospital to a Skilled Nursing Facility yesterday afternoon. (where I worked for 20 years before moving to Indianapolis) he is doing well and up and walking with help. He receives therapy a couple of times a day and if he stays on course he should be released to go home within 2-3 weeks.
thank you all for the continued prayers and support.

you are so right, and I feel very blessed that he is still in such good shape. He just took a driving test about a mth ago because some busy bodies thought he shouldn't be driving at 91. Well Grandpa passed with flying colors, the instructor said, not only is he a good driver, he can carry on a conversation while he is driving and not mess up. He has some severe health issues, but all in all at 91 he is doing good.
thx for remembering him sig and DC.

i just got off the phone with my Mom (dad was at the NH making arrangements) Grandpa passed on early this morning. I am sad, yet thankful, he is not suffering anymore and if you believe (I do), he is in heaven with Grandma. We went up to see him this past Sunday and he wasn't doing well then, but told my Dad last night that he really enjoyed the visit with us all.

thank you ladies so much. It is a sad time of year as I have lost all my grandparents at this time of year. Grandpa passed almost 15 years to the day after Grandma. I am still in a state of shock to a point. Death is never easy.
