The SN on my Enfield is getting hard to make out. (was not well stamped in the first place) Is it illegal to have a SN that can be difficult to distinguish. What I am saying is: It HAS the SN but it is difficult to read.

I am fairly sure that laws say you can't deface , remove or orliterate a serial # . I have seen several VERY old .22 for sale without serial #'s . and have been told since they were made without serial # they are ok. since yours is just hard to read you SHOULD be ok. <standard I am not a LAWYER discaimer here> . best bet is a letter to the ATF and ask them , that way if it ever becomes an issue you have a letter from them stating it is ok.

I did not deface or alter it in any way whatsoever. I looked again and it is easier to read than I thought it would be. So nevermind.
