I know it is legal to do a private sale, but what I couldn't find out was what kind of documentation I would need. Any Idea? All help wanted - Thanks!

None required.

I know this is a bad example but if you sell a scooter you need to do nothing in the way of paperwork.  Gun same thing.  Both are unregistered objects of possession and require no sales documentation for private sale.

BUT!  CYA... Require documentation from your buyer to the fact that he is old enough to buy (you don't need to copy it just see it) ASK if the purchase is for the buyers personal use. ASK if there is any reason the buyer would not be allowed to purchase a firearm through a dealer. Don't forget residency.
Get the wrong response and RUN LIKE HELL from the sale.
You could also download a 4473 from the ATF web site if you're really paranoid.

But bottom line again, NO DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED!
