As some of you know, there was a problem communicating with the mfgr we first placed the Hero Rifles with. After trying many months by phone and fax without response, we had to move the order to another mfgr. ArmaLite has accepted the project and our purchase order. When they found out more about the reason for this project; for members of AR15.COM to honor 5 of their own members who worked so hard in NYC after 9/11, they upgraded the rifle to a Eagle A10. Since many of the officers are trying to make AR15.COM’s Black Rifle Convention and ArmaLite is a sponsor/vendor, we think it would be nice for the Admins of AR15.COM & ArmaLite to make the presentation to those officers at the convention. Those who can’t make the convention we will send to their FFL when they are available. Ed, since there will be a few firearms magazines covering the convention, you better keep Goatboy sober for this presentation. Then he can fall down & miss his door prize, which I will be happy to win in his place.

I recently purchased an M15 from Armalite. After reading this thread, I'm doubly glad that I gave them my business. BTW, the rifle arrived ahead of schedule, looks great, and groups like a wet dream!

Thanks for the update Grin&Barrett. I was actually wondering what was up with that. I don't have any vacation time to hit the BRC this year but will probably go to Campybobs since I will be reset to 4 weeks vaca by then. If you guys throw another BRC party next year I will be there!

Eagle arms a-10......hhmmmm....just a TAD larger than a rra std or stripped model.............CONGRATS ARMALITE......ONCE AGAIN YOU PROVE THAT YOU ARE #1........(the original is still the best!).........[heavy] (all my ar`s may not have green furniture.......BUT all my ar recievers will say..."ARMALITE"...)

The fact that Armalite cared enough to pick up this project is great. The fact that they chose to upgrade these to AR10s speaks volumes about their commitment to shooters, and their pride in our heroes. Thank You Armalite.

Way to go, Mr. Westrom. A very honorable gesture on the part of Armalite. My already high pride of ownership factor for my Armalite just went up even more.

I appreciate the understanding for the delay. It is unfortunate this project was delayed at the original source but it was turned out for the best. A unexpected positive is I 've learned which mfrs are more responsive to us (AR15.COM & Castle), value our business and act in a professional business manner.

Well, before it goes away, let me just say that this seals it - I must now put an AR10 on my "to buy" list. Thanks Armalite, and thanks John, Tim, and the gang. And most of all, THANK YOU to all the NY guys!!!!!! You will always be heros in my book!

Although he's a great guy and all what does Tom at OLY have to do with Armalite giving our guys AR10s??

Tom is the MAN (technically speaking) from Armalite..just a little respect for his service to the shooting community, as well as those previously mentioned!

My bad... too many cocktails already...Tom does a great job for OLY. Flame away!
