I had emailed this guy who sang the song "Sgt. mackenzie" in the movie "we were soldiers" he is in a celtic band called Clann an Drumma and the song is sung twice I believe in the movie....its a great song, anyway, just now I checked my email and he wrote back! Here is what he said: Hi Satcong, just wanted to thank you for your kind words regarding the song Sgt MacKenzie,I wrote this as a tribute to my great grandfather Charles Stuart MacKenzie,A sgt in the seaforth highlanders who lost his life trying to protect one of his fallen comrades during the battle of roclincourt 9th april 1917,it also I hope keeps the memory of all the servicemen and woman alive. thank you once again, please feel free to contact me at anytime on this address. Health & Happiness...Joe Kilna MacKenzie...Slainte.
