But this is a cordon and search op, sweeping a 60sq mi area called OBJ REMINGTON with men from the 101st AAD while three Spec Ops led Afgan forces block access to the area. Special ops units from 6 other NATO countries are conducting reconisance operations throughout the AO.

A-10's, AH-64's, and tube artillery are being used for the first time by the US in this conflict. Also the French have fired their first shots of the war, from Mirage 2000D fighters. Helicopters and artillery units from 10 Mountian Division are assisting the 101st AAD and the Afgans in this.

Franks news confrence had hardly ended and CNN was already attacking the use of US forces in this attack. Calling the 9 deaths so far as "horrific" and asking why we are sending US troops in a defended area![rolleyes] Traitorous bastards.

MSNBC just reported from their reporter on the scene, who has gotten as far as the village of Gardez the jumping off point for one of the Afghan columns. He reports that a group of Canadian journalists had their SUV bombed as they were pulling into Gardez this morning. They stopped at a intersection and someone threw a hand grenade through a side window. A female Candian journalist couldnt get out of the vheicle in time and was severly injured in the blast.
