Definitely slower.
I just got a cable modem & this site is slower than just about any other site I've logged on at |
It's a lot slower than last month. But hopefully it'll speed up some once traffic stabilizes.
SLOW
LL O O W W Any slower, time will come to a stand still.... (Glad it's up and running). Oh, 10pm pacific time here. |
... quite anemic from both T1 lines at work and school.
... My cable is not any better. ... Keep trying please |
Lets see... I was relieved when the site came back up today, but then I fell asleep waiting for pages to load. I'm not bitching, I know it'll get better... I just so freakin impatient!
AR15.com is like crack to me...and I've been going through withdrawals. |
This is a response. Repeat, this is only a response.
The site is painfully slow.[>Q] But still glad to see it back.[:D] If this had been an actual bitch, everything would have been typed in [red]LARGE,BOLD,RED CAPITAL[/red] letters. Thank you GoatBoy. coyote3 |

GB,
I have been to the site right before and right after the latest change. It is now a much slower connection for me from two different ISP's, one DSL and one Broadband connection. I know finding a host that is truthful about their server performance is often difficult, and unless you know why it is slower now than 72 hours ago, it must be the new host. Why did u not use a poll so you wouldn't have to read all of these posts? Keep up the good work. |
I just logged on and found this topic. I clicked on page3 and started the clock. I was stunned when I passed the 1min mark and could not believe it actually went past 2min. I am on cable, and right now.... THIS PLACE IS SLOW!!!
Nuckles. [smash] |
slow doesn't do it justice.
Painfuly slow. the kind of slow that strikes fear in the hearts of mortal man. The kind of slow that proves the existence of hell!! Why do the ar15 gods tease me this way?! WHY!!!!!! They take away my ar15.com, only to give it back it in little peices over a long period of time. Someone... Anyone... PLEASE call jesse jackson or al sharpton i am being persecuted!!!!! mike |
It would be more productive to bang my head against the wall than use the site as it is! [:D]
A snail could travel around the world in the time it takes to load the site, and I'm on a T1! [:D] hope it gets better! Thanks for the hard work GB! We all appriciate it! |
almost 5 minutes just to load the first page of the thread after logging in, and I'm using DSL. All the other web sites I visit load up very quickly.
Keep tweaking it and it'll be back to what we're used to! |
W.
Veeeeeeerry s l o w. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. Actually I thought your resurrection from the dead happened pretty quickly. |
Much better than last night but still slower than "before blackout". Page D/L's taking an average of ~30 seconds. BTW, I'm on an ISDN dialup.
Awwwwwwww, hell, limping is better than dead. Besides, like some of the others said, mine is faster than it has been recently, but alot slower than last month.
Goatboy,
last night from about 2100 - 2200 hours (Central) I was unable to open this topic to respond. (I'm running on a cable modem.) This morning marginally faster but probably due to fewer users. It's slow. |
Thank you for bringing the site back!...It was Okay (normal) then suddenly it went slow on me.
I'm glad to see AR15.com back!
Enee Menee minee mo, How do you read my radio. Fee Figh Fo fum, Loud and clear with a little hum. 4 minites 17 seconds to open the second page of this post. 3 minutes 9 seconds to open this message page. Cable modem. 800 Duron At 9:39 AM Central time 02-21-02 |
The speed fluctuates a lot. Sometimes I can load a page in 5 minutes, other times it takes 10. As in right now, it took about 12 minutes between first clicking on the post's title, loading the post, logging in, and loading the reply page.
I'm glad to have the site back, but even on the T1 I'm using right now, each page takes several minutes to load.
It took about 2 minutes to even log on (normally takes 2 seconds). |
S L O W ! Unbearably S L O W ! ! !
Good to be back though! It's 10:10am Chicago, central time and I connect via T1 on a 2.2gig Pentium 4. . . (I feel us though I've warped back about 8 years to my old Apple Macintosh and I'm connecting on a 28.8 UGH!) |
very slow, but all the better to not get any work done at the office - you wouldn't want me to actually be productive...
It's improved considerably since last night, but it's still so slow you'd think Microsoft was involved. Now, THAT'S slow. [:D]
But it has been beneficial to me, in a way. I've got my guitar in my lap, my amp cranked up to Patent Pending, and I'm getting a lot of practice on licks, riffs, and leads while I'm waiting, so it's making me a better guitar player, and it's slowly notching my hearing as well, I'm sure. It's PHYSICALLY loud! No complaints from the neighbors yet...but they're at work. I'm bumming today. [:D] CJ |
Agonizingly SLOW!!
T1 here at work. This page took 42 secs. But as the saying goes "Dyspareunia is better than no pareunia at all". cpermd |
Considerably slower than a month ago...a little slower than a year ago
More update- technician just left and said "yup, you have a problem on the line; we'll send someone out in the next couple of days."
I've already got the call into the corporate office and they will get someone on this in the next few minutes... stay tuned. Service is very intermittent... from this end, I should have at least 4Mbs downstream but I'm varying from 400Kbs - 1Mbs (and dropping a good 10% of the packets). [:(] The good news is that performance WILL increase (which is better than them saying everything's fine); so at least they've recognized the problem. If I remember right from my club meetings, that's the first step. We'll keep you posted. In the meantime, service might be up and down for the rest of the day as they work, we diagnose problems with the DB CPUs, and bring a couple more servers online to offload work. In the meantime, we're also moving forward with another ISP to get some added bandwidth/redundancy in here. You'll hear more as soon as we do... |
These Intermittent Service Providers remind me of British sports cars. Do you suppose lurking in all those hubs, routers, etc. are Lucas electrical parts? [;)]
Gentlemen,
The site is excruciatingly slow now. I believe it is a problem on your end, as I am having no problems on the NAMBLA, kiddie porn and HCI sites. Thank you. |
Yet another update...
Constantly harrassing the ISP, I finally got the following: The line techs (because they've diagnosed that the line has problems) were on their way over here when someone dug up a fiber line... Needless to say, they'll be working on that for the rest of the night, so we won't see them until tomorrow morning. [:(] A diagnostic test run from the main office apparently shows this line is worse than any they've ever seen! (GREAT) Hopefully when this is resolved, we should see a 4-5x increase in bandwidth, and we've already ordered the hardware and another line to double that... (however it will take anywhere from 20-30 days before the second line is completely in place) So, the saga continues; more tomorrow...stay tuned. |
Hey GB, Welcome back. It's about 30% slower than normal, but still servicable.

So slow, I could travel to Germany, become a citizen there again, apply for permit for a M-16 in full GI config., have it delivered, and come back in time to see the page finish loading.
So slow, I could sire a soccer team and coach them to the state championship. So slow, while waiting for a page to load, my computer became obsolete. So slow, well, it's a tad slow ;) |
Just a little feedback...
Incredibly slow for me. I have a cable ISP, which buzzes right along on almost every site but this one. Nice that AR15.com is back online though. |
I know it's horrid, but nothing we can do right now!
The temp lines will be fixed tomorrow (we hope!) and the perm lines will be run and tested in the next 2 weeks (we hope!) May god have mercy on our souls and bless the damn phone company so they move their tails and get things done quick and proper! [=D] |
Ohh boy she's slow.
I hope the phone company gets it all worked out ASAP. To all who have been working on the problem, thank you for all your help in getting this baby back up. |
About 4 mins to open main page (post headline text in blue).
3 mins to open this thread. 2 mins for reply page to show. Despite that, great site – I think we all know you're doing the best you can G-B – thanks. |
Glad to see the site back up and running but it is very, very slow. This reply page took more than a minute to load.
