My father-in-law buys alot of stuff at surplus auctions for his business. About 10 years ago he bought a group of stuff that had a M2 Boroscope(SIC) with it. This thing was made in 1952 and looks like it has never been used. It consists of a bunch of different stainless steel poles with prism's and lenses that have light bulbs in them. It was used to check the condition of the inside of the bore of tanks and artillery pieces. Can anyone tell me anything about it, or what it might be worth. All the components are there and the whole thing weighs about 300LBS all together. Thanks in advance.

Maybe Sweep could use it to look inside chimneys.......

We still use bore scopes of that nature on howitzers, but they are much lighter these days.  It is amazing what you can see in the tube of a 155mm howitzer.  As to value, since other than muzzle loading howitzers out there not many people other than the military has a need for them and we already have them.
