Poor bastards

Here law states you get at least a temporary permit in 5 days

Cost : $10 to the sheriff for a 4 year permit
Training : WTF? We don't need no stinkin training
Only have to be 18!
only 1 more year for me!

Prairie-Ranger, would it be rude to say I hate you? [:)]  $10, no training requirement, and only a 5 day delay, wow!  What about fingerprinting requirements?  I don't really mind month long delays as much as being treated like a sex offender to get a permit.

schapman43, excuse my selfish wallowing in self pity.  I forgot to ask, where are you going to carry first and what are you going to carry?  I think it's rude of us to have not asked that.  Also, let us know how it makes you feel to carry.z

I am still waiting for mine.
Went in and got finger printed on Jan 2,2002
Paid $65 for license fees
Paid $35 for NRA Gun Safety Class/Oregon Laws class
Waiting for the 45 Day waiting period.
Am getting anxious like a kid waiting for Christmas.
Feb16,2002 seems so long away.[bounce][bounce]

I almost forgot to mention.  The other day when I called to see what the usual wait time on a license was I was told 120 days because they have seen a huge ammount of applications lately.
