I am tired of carrying all of my crap all over dodge in sagging pockets.  What I need is a man bag.  Needs to be nice enough for the town, man enough so my wife won't leave me, and big enough for my gear.  Should hold small survival kit, medium binoculars, leatherman, G19 mags, streamlight stinger, novel...  I don't want a asss bag and I don't want a backpack.  Just something like a travel bag.  Eagle creek comes close, but I would prefer leather or canvas or something like that.  Any idears?

I use a small soft sided briefcase. Great for books & guns.

My "purse" is a shaving bag, have used one for years, works great, and looks manly too!

They have some 'manly' shoulder bags at The Gap. I've got a black leather one that I throw just bout everything in (guns, ammo, note pad for recon, radar detector, cameras, breath mints) when I'm stuck out of my house all day.

I got a Craftsman soft cordura nylon type tool case. It has all kinds of pockets, inside and out, and the whole top opens instead of just a zipper, there's a metal frame that swings open, with a zipper that goes about half way down both sides. Mines gray but I think they come in hunter green too. It's a TOOL BOX, very manly.......

This should be the location for the bag....its on sears.com (search for tool bags) if this doesn't work:

If you get their mailorder catalog, they have great leather bags, look heavy duty, last a long time.  I couldn't find it on the website.

Check out Manhattan Portage - They've got a number of different types and colors.  The messenger bags are good (thats what I use) but check out the other types they have too.

Why not a photographer's vest, or something similar, from Banana Republic, et al.?

And don't say 'cause it'll make me sweat'!

Carrying a 'man purse' would make me sweat more!

Ponyboy, you beat me to the punch.  Seriously though, the whole bag thing is kind of an unfair double standard.  I'm with EricTheHun...photo vest.  I'd leave the damn bag somewhere by mistake.

With todays cell phones, palm's, blackberrys, leathermans, knives, etc....  What you need is something like a Batman's utility belt

Try Coronado Leather (www.coronadoleather.com, as I recall).  Go to the "Carrycases".  Each of their cases comes with a removable nylon holster, which helps reduce the estrogen factor, and pump up the testosterone level. Designed to look like anything but a purse.
