Go here and vote the poll. It is already a landslide in favor of CCW but it never hurts.

Ban On Concealed Handguns Extended
Appeals Court To Rule Later
Updated: 10:38 a.m. EST January 25, 2002

CINCINNATI -- The state's ban on concealed weapons will continue in Hamilton County.

The First Ohio District Court of Appeals decided Friday to extend a stay of a lower court's order forbidding police from enforcing the ban, WLWT Eyewitness News 5 reported.

The ban will remain in place until an appeals court rules on whether it is unconstitutional, WLWT reported.

Judge Robert Ruehlman of the Hamilton County Common Pleas Court decided Jan. 10 that Ohio's ban on carrying concealed weapons violates the state Constitution.

However, attorneys for Ohio, Cincinnati and Hamilton County obtained an immediate stay of Ruehlman's order so that police could continue enforcing the ban.

The ruling was prompted by a lawsuit from several local residents, including a private investigator, who are asking for the right to carry concealed weapons.
