Cheap than dirt has a GI copy assault vest for $30.  It is Korean made I think.  Any experience as to how these compare to the GI Issue?  I saw a "real" one in the local surplus store for $75.

I had a korean one in black, and sold it to get a USGI surplus woodland camo one.  Although it was some time ago, I don't remember there being much difference.  I would think the korean copy would be just fine unless you plan on training hard with it quite a lot.

I find I use my USGI canvas pistol belt and load bearing suspenders with a couple 3mag/grenade pouches and pistol holster more often for training purposes.....I haven't used the vest at all.  I guess I prefer the old school stuff!
