Shooter,
I know this isn't even close but I have an M1A1 in .243.
This puppy, with a 55gr bullet, gets about 4000fps of muzzle velocity.  I no longer hunt (animals) but this is a "FLAT-shooting" machine for me - a humble puncher-of-paper.

Did not know they made one.

Shooter,
if you do wind up getting the .243 sure hope you'll post how you like it, etc.
In addition to the M1A1 in .243 I also have an AR-10(T) in .243.
Guess I just like the caliber.

I'm pretty sure that's a custom barreled PSS.

doesn't catalog a .243

My PSS is in 223 and I like it very much.  If the opportunity ever arises for one in 243 I am sure I would take it, and enjoy it also.

Great, a cobby ass rifle, now with short barrel life.

5subslr5,

Where'd you get an M1A1 chambered in .243 Win.

Is that a Thompsom or M1 carbine.

"SUPPOSEDLY" this rifle was made for a member of the Springfield Armory Rifle Team.
It also has a fold-down pistol grip that I've never seen on another M1A1.
Made in 7/91
I bought it from a dealer who just wanted to sell the rifle - at a gun show here in Oklahoma City

I have a 700 VLS in .243 and love it dearly.  Great with factory ammo and FANTASTIC with handloads.  Nosler balistic tips at nearly 4000 FPS is explosive.

Now you've got me wondering but I believe it's an M1A1.  Tomorrow I'll have to look and make sure.

By the way what's the difference in the M1A1 and the M1A ??
