I have been "blessed" with a cold that came on last night.  So now I am awake jacked up on cold medicine telling you people of my condition.  Looks like I will be laying into the eggnog a little early this year.  Some people say you need to feed a cold, some say you need to starve it; I for one believe you need to drowned a cold.

Yes... yo need to drown it. But not wth egg nog. The lactic acid will increase your mucous and add to the misery. Try drowning it with a double Maker's Mark instead.

Last year at Christmas I was in the hospital nearly deceased from pneumonia.

I happen to have some Maker's in the cabinet.  I think I will wait a couple hours though...  Or at least until the sun comes up......... Is it noon where you're at??????

I seem to be a "little" better today.
Whisky works as well as any cold medication.
BenDover is right about eggnog, milk products.
Try squeezing lemon juice in water every 2-3 hrs and drink that.  Rest when you can.

Hey here's a suggestion from Me for You.
I too usually suffer with the "Fall into Winter cold" and the last few years I go from
cold to bronchitis to Pneumonia virtually over night. >>FUN!!<<
This year I tried a product called ZICAM. It is a gelled nasal spray. At the first hint
of the cold coming on, I bought the Zicam ($10, not cheap) and used it as directed.
The result was a one and one half day cold. Done, gone, finished. others in My office
with the same cold have had it as long as 2 weeks. Your mileage may vary.
