Why is that M16 in the second photo wrapped up like that?

(sometimes it helps to lighten the pix up with Photoshop first)

Flashlight?  It appears you are refering to the Night Vision Sights on the SAWs, they look like Littons, either the 4X Raptor or AQUILA III
