BTT So many places to give. So few places that will actually use your money for something other then a bigger bonus for the Pres and VP's.

The problem is that smile quickly disappears when you think about what is now happening to most of that money. Greedy "charities" being sure to take their cut, victims' families fighting over which victims are more deserving and how much who should get, firefighter and police charirities receiving contributions ridiculously out of proportion to the people who only worked in the WTC, etc. Frankly, I'm glad I didn't give more than the $6 I had in my pocket when I passed a Red Cross donation station. In my opinion, all this poor behavior is only making people more cynical than ever about donating.

GMA reported a couple days ago that only 18% of the 337 million that United way has collected has been distributed. And they are making it very difficult for anyone to get any of it. Now UNICEF is raising cane wanting a large share to take overseas(probably Afghanistan). This sucks! I knew it would happen from the start.

A pile of money is like a dead cow. It attracts vultures.
