Does anyone know where to get the style of BDU shirts that I've seen some non convetional forces using? The ones I've seen are standard woodland camo, but have only 2 pockets (breast) on the front, but they also have pockets on the upper arms, just about shoulder height. Sorta like this guy, but I've seen it without the hood as well. Thanks

You take the pockets off the bottom of the blouse and sow them on the sleeves and you have that style.

Jeez, think he's got enough crap hanging off that rifle?

Who gave you my picture!?...... Just kidding...the BDU's that you see in this pic are issue to some Special Forces - I'm not sure "where" they originate from but I saw US Army SF wearing them in Kosovo last year. If you can find them, best of luck. I've been interested in them for some time but most of the SF guys I've seen have standard BDU's - minus all or most identifying marks like nametapes. The new Marine Corp BDU's are pretty high-speed but I don't beleive they are available outside the Marine Corp yet. - Jon

J_Smith, the new cammies for the USMC won't be available for mass consumption until early next year (March- April time frame), [smoke]

Does that flashhider look funny to anyone else? It sorta looks like the top slot is indexed around 1 or 2 oclock, instead of 11:30 to 12. Kharn

SPEAR jacket?

Is that a double barreled laser or something behind his front sight?

Is that a night vision scope ?? The flat goody just behind the front sight is a pretty good IR illuminator but only useful when coupled with a night vision scope. (This might be a little off topic but I'm still curious.)

Hard to tell with the poor detail. Can you get me a bigger picture?[;)] Sgtar15

I may have this mod mixed up with the visible laser but I believe the flat double barrel looking thing behind the front sight is the PAQ-4C IR Illuminator. If so it will light (IR) to about one mile out.

This style is pretty much a custom job that the troopers choose to use because of the utility that the pockets provide. Typically, they are just the bottom pockets on the BDU blouse that are moved to the arms. This is only done on the "field" uniforms. When you are in the field, you typically do not have the ability to access the bottom pockets due to either web gear or flak jak. What works in the field, works in the field. Uniformity is last on the list of concerns when you have a job to do.

Has anyone else noticed the two gas venting holes in the bolt carrier are missing in this image? Strange...

They're called "Anoraks" and they are a pull over type BDU jacket. They have all kinds of extra pockets for "special uses".

Remove the top pockets and sew them on the sleeves. Remove the bottom pockets and sew them on the chest at an angle.

ARfans got it right. Itworks the best with the BDUs that were issued in the late 80s early 90s ( the ones with the tabs on the side) the pockets are both fully bellowed. The new ones dont bellow as much.
