Do you honor the Marines or the Afgani they are burying?

I saw this on the news.
I noticed that the rifles were cycling after each shot (salute), but I don't see any blank firing attachment.
I bet they are firing live ammo.

I've seen stateside rifle salutes were thay use balnks and have to pull the charging handle each time.

A deceased Afghan fighter.  They had a muslim marine cleric to officiate.  A map was made of the grave, it and the spent casings were being sent to the family.

Especially because an afghani is money.  That guy there must be an Afghan.

Sorry, that's just been bugging me as of late.

... Like you, I study these pix closely. I noticed that as well. And yes, the deceased is Afghan but at the time they rendered honors this guy was their "ally". Our Marines were receiving fire from the same vector the dead man was.

Better hope that the family doesn't think the Marines were the ones who shot the guy. . . .
