Not to start anything... well, kinda...

Just a warning of sorts,

I just found out today from a contractor that if you make modifications to your system configuration, XP will only allow you to do this up to 5 or 6 times then MS requires you to buy another license.

Can anyone verify this???

Yes, it is completely untrue!  Microsoft will allow 5-6 COMPLETE system changes before they require manual activation.  This is a per year number, not total.  So basically you would have to change your processor, motherboard, or NIC (network card) 5-6 times a year.
