Ruger will send you a manual for free - don't dare disassemble the thing without one. The MkII is the hardest of my more than two dozen firearms to get back together.
That little dangle link inside the trigger assembly is a pain in the behind to get to fall in that notch. So much so that there is a company that sells a modified bolt that takes down a different way. Nice friend. |

BTW, does anyone know were I could download a parts diagram so I could disassemble it? [:D] sheezzzz Boys and their toys! They get something and the first thing they do is take it apart ;) U lucky dog! |

Disassembly is no problem--kind of like falling. It's [b]re[/b]-assembly that is a bitch if you don't carefully follow the mfr.'s directions, to the letter. Point the muzzle up/down at the right time and you will be fine. If you received it w/o the manual, call Ruger and they will send one free--safety and all that stuff.

Reminds me of the Christmas present I got from a buddy of mine back in the day (8-9 years ago). Dave, my best friend and shooting pal gave me the choice between a run of the mill 1911 park'd and average grade, or a used Ruger SuperBlackhawk Stainless in .44mag with 7.5" barrel and Leupold 1.5x EER scope, naturally I took the Super Blackhawk. Still love and cherish it, and would never sell it EVER!

do a search on the web for ruger and takedown. there is a website that has detailed instructions and pictures for reassembly. If i can find the url i will post it.

You can use a paperclip to hook that take down lever. There is a trick to it, and I would get the manual. If you need the instructions right now, I could scan the take down instructions and email them to you. Let me know via email. I like the MII's a lot too. I picked up a 50 year anniversary edition for my 2 year old when he was born. It's got his year of birth stamped on it. Be cool if it actually goes up in value, but not too likely. Hope he likes it.
