OK, here's one I heard a while ago. I was going to add it to VA's post but I like it so I thought I'd give it its own.
Jesus is nailed to the cross on Cavalry and raised up. He calls out to his disciple Peter, "Peter, Peter, come to me Peter."
Peter says, "Yes lord, I am coming," and fights is way through the crowd only to be knocked back by the Roman guards.
Jesus cries out again, "Peter, Peter, come to me Peter!"
Peter says "Lord, I am coming" and fights his way through the crowd, this time to be beaten and then thrown back by the Roman guards.
Jesus says again, "Peter, please come to me Peter!"
Peter, with renewed vigor fights his way through the crowd and the blows of the Roman guards and beaten and bloodied crawls to the foot of Jesus's cross. "I made it Lord, what is it you wish of me!"
Jesus says, "Peter, I can see your house from here."
