I often daydream about living back in the dark ages. I would be a mage of awesome power. Slaying Dragons, Saving Damsels in distress, doing good all over the land. I would have a castle in the middle of an enchanted lake. that would be so cool. If I did not know who was coming, I would throw fireball at em while they cross the lake.
But then again I also daydream of being a cyborg martials arts cop in the year 4000. |

yeah cousre i know the real middle ages vs the fantasy middle ages are 2 diffrent things if i had a time machine i would love to stock up on pre 68 imported mp5s [:D]

Has anyone ever wished they had lived in a different time? Nope. Does anyone think that technology has passed us to the point that our world is to complex? When robots start wiping our asses and we can't figure out why they wipe the wrong way, then yep. Does anyone ever think about what it would be like living with no electronic equipment or electricity for that matter. Then we'll have no AR15.com, no AR15's, no cars, no free porn (i.e. internet)... so Nope. |

I was watching the Patriot the other night and thinking to myself...Man if I was living back then and fighting for American Independence I sure would like to have my Bushmaster with about 25 30 round mags.

The thing about the pat is that things we consider to be minor health issues totoday were life-threatening sources of major agony then. Just one example, today you get a urinary yeast infection and you run to the drug store for a package of Uristat that doesn't even require a prescription. Problem solved. In the "good old days", you suffered with it endlessly, screamed when you urinated, prayed it didn't reach your kidneys and go systemic, and tried to get on with life. Calvin Coolidge's son died from a blister he got playing tennis that turned septic, fer chrissake! Honestly, people in them good old days practised dramming for a reason.

Tuberculosis, typhoid fever, infectious typhus, small pox, bubonic plague, the French pox (syphilis), the English pox (gonorrhea), blood poisoning, gas gangrene, child-bed (birth) fever, burst appendix, abscessed teeth, conjunctivitis, kidney stones, hemorrhoids, ingrown nails, boils...all this and more in the absence of anesthetics, effective pain killers, sterile technique and antibiotics. Gosh, what a treat.

I think I would like to have been around near the turn of the century, like the 1890's-first decade of the 1900s. America was just coming into its own as a world power, flexing her muscles, and we had Teddy Roosevelt in the White House.
If not then, I would like to have been born around a hundred years in the future, maybe two hundred...there's so much we're going to discover soon and my only regret is I won't be around to see it. |

There are THINGS, incidents that I would like to revisit from the past but not to stay.
I happen to like trauma centers, penecillin, and refrigeration. The future would be a better place to visit, or to move to. I'd seriously consider moving to a space colony.. |
