  I was cleaning off my desk the other day and found a Benelli magazine, on the second page was a picture of the sweetest shotgun I have EVER seen...
   and it hit me -  I NEED THAT GUN.

But I can hardly find anything on it, if anybody has any experience with it let me know what you thought, and the price, I need to know that, bad.

Thanks

It's so beautiful.
I love that shotgun.

With the laws as they are, it will never be available with those features.

if it is manufactured with a 5 rnd or less fixed capacity, it is not an aw and can have a pistol grip AND a tele stock. import restrictions not withstanding.

It works. Just "right click" on the [b][red]X[/red][/b] cut and paste the "Properties" of the [b][red]X[/red][/b] onto your address bar, and press go.

BTW, Tuukka... why do they all look rusty?

Murphy, they are rusty since we not take care of the old POSs. [:)]

Seriously, maybe it is cause of the camera...

I put a few rounds through one two years ago at Ft Bragg when the HK guys were demoing them.

Shot great!  Even the ladies who shot it, liked it.

The info is correct, it is not for the civilian market.  Yet.

As currently configured, it has a collapsible stock, pistol grip, and extended magazine.  Only one of these is permitted on postban semi-auto shotguns.

There's no point in waiting around for a civilianized M4 S90 if you can only have one of those features.  For the military, it'll be a great weapon!

I got to handle one of the first three delivered to the Corps back in late spring of 2000.  An armorer from Quantico had brought it to a military expo on the Mall in D.C., and he let me play with it a bit.  Really handles well!  Then the Gunny field stripped it to show me the dual gas pistons - pretty interesting design.

I sure hope I get to use one eventually...drool...

I liked it.  Recoil felt lighter than my M1 Super 90.  Quick shooting.

Are you at the Naval Academy, McNamara?

From the BATF.....[b]

Dear Mr. Bardwell:

This refers to your letter of May 30, 2000, in which you asked
about a semiautomatic shotgun.

You describe a Mossberg M9200A1 semiautomatic shotgun which accepts
4 rounds of 2-3/4 or 3-inch ammunition in a fixed tubular magazine,
and having a pistol grip and a folding stock.

As defined in section 921(a)(30)(D), of Title 18, United States
Code, the term "semiautomatic assault weapon" means a semiautomatic
shotgun that has at least 2 of the following features:

    (i) a folding or telescoping stock;

    (ii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the
         action of the weapon;

    (iii) a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds; and;

    (iv) an ability to accept a detachable magazine.

The described semiautomatic shotgun has two of the qualifying
features; therefore, it is a semiautomatic assault weapon as
defined.

                             - 2 -

Mr. Bardwell

Section 922(v)(1), of Title 18 U.S.C., provides that it shall be
unlawful for any person to manufacture, transfer or possess a
semiautomatic assault weapon.[red]  However, paragraph (v)(3)(D)
provides that the prohibition in paragraph (1) shall not apply to
any semiautomatic shotgun that cannot hold more than 5 rounds of
ammunition in a fixed or detachable magazine.

If the described shotgun cannot hold more than 5 rounds of
ammunition in its fixed magazine, it is excluded from the
prohibition in section 922(v)(1).[/red]

We trust that the foregoing has been responsive to your inquiry.
If you have further questions concerning this matter, please
contact us.

                       Sincerely yours,

                           [signed]

                     Curtis H.A. Bartlett
           Acting Chief, Firearms Technology Branch
[/b]
