What would be your next rifle?  Mine would have to be a Springfield M1A Loaded fitted to a fiberglass E2 stock and about 25 GI mags.  After that the semiauto version of the HK G36 wouldn't find itself excluded from my safe...[:)]

Vector UZI since I'm not getting a raise this year and the 1919 doesn't really fit in the budget.

I didn't think the AW ban affected M1A's that much?  I mean, they don't have a pistol grip so they still have flash suppressors and stuff, right?

I'd probably buy a few more AR-15's too.

I would be broke.  All strung out buying guns.  But I'm not holding my breath that the AW law will sunset...

BMANSAR15, the ban does effect the M1A I'm talking about.  An E2 stock has an (evil) pistol grip.  Also, while a post ban M1A have flash hiders (unless headed to CA) they don't have bayonette lugs (no big loss for me).

Yeah, you're right DarkNite.  I didn't know that you were talkig about a pistol-gripped stock or "drive-by" bayonet lug.  That would be cool!

I'd get one of them too! [:D]

I think you all, or most of you are probably wrong.

You probably would only have a few guns and maybe an AR15.  Not tons of them.  Same with magazines.  You would have a few and there wouldn't be as many magaholics as there are now.

Face it, the bans have make us buy more and more and more than what we would have if there never was a ban.

If they would lift the NFA, we would have no gun laws since the GCA/FOPA were amendments to the NFA. The 89 Ban, 94 Ban, and Brady Bill were amendments to the GCA. here is what I wouls buy:

$30 + Tube Fully-Automatic STEN Gun
$144 Select-Fire RPK
$135 Select-Fire BREN Gun
$400 Select-Fire FN-FAL
$370 Select-Fire MG-34
$372 Select-Fire M16-A2
$370 Select-Fire MG-42
$150 Select-Fire ZB-30
$300 Select-Fire ZB-37

Of course these are the prices for building one from currently available parts. Should the laws be repealed, the cost of importation/manufacture would significantly drop and they'd be even cheaper.

7, you have a point about certain binge buying but I assure you my collection would be substantially different than it is now.  I remember the days before the ban (hell, I still have a few old SGNs from the mid 80s).  Unfortunately I started college late and it wasn't until after '94 that I could actually afford to buy guns at all.

Given reasonable (well, preban at least) prices I would easily have a bevy of FAL Paras, Norinco underfolders and fully-functional M4s in my safe by now.  These days I have to spend over six hundred dollars just to have Coles send me a couple dozen dinged USGI M14 mags!  Just singin' the military rifle lover's blues, I suppose...

I don't know what my next gun would be, but I would have more rifles and more money in the bank right now. Well, maybe not the money part.

I shot a G36k last week, I would pick one up.

I'd also like a Sig550(1 or 2)

Though I am not really fond of either, I'd like 16" Black AUG and a Galil in .308

This would only be a benefit to me if FDCGHs never existed as well.
