What the fuck is wrong with all you goddamn liberals in PRK?  Get your kids off the dope and in the church and this shit would stop.

At least 9 down....details are trickling in.  No word on any deaths yet.

The major news outlets like FoxNews.com and CNN, MSNBC have little blurbs on their main pages but no stories yet.  I'm watching live feeds from the area on FoxNews Channel and MSNBC.

9 down 1 gunchild in custody.  One student they interviewed say they got it on film and video tape.

SANTEE, Calif. — Several students have been reported wounded in a shooting at a high school near San Diego, according to fire and sheriff's officials.

KFMB-TV was reporting that the shooting took place at Santana High School in the suburb of Santee.

A student reported to Fox News Channel that he heard shots ring out while he was in class, and then got video footage of the shooter, who he said was smiling as he fired.

"I thought it was someone playing around with a cap gun," the student reported. "Everyone was running away ... I saw one student go down. He was lying in the middle of the quad."

He reported that the gunman was using a long-barreled handgun.

As many as nine people may have been wounded.

When the hell are the going to learn that we need ARMED GUARDS at every school!!  The main reason their are school shootings is because everyone knoews they are such easy targets. How hard would it be to find $35,000/yr to hire one armed guard? I am tired of this bullsh!t.  This is why I want to home school both my kids.  The damn kid that did this probably has very poor parents and sometimes I think the parents should also be heald responsible in situations like this.

I am currently looking for a HS for my son, I will now have new questions to ask the schools.  I am just glad my son knows what to do in a sitation like this.

Regardless of what the kids problems are,  or were, regardless of what medications he has been taking or not taking, or the parenting skills used or not used by his parents, the major news media is going to say, kids shouldnt have access to guns.  Once again the guns are the evil force behind the actions.  While Datleine was on I was talking with my 10 years old about guns/gun safety/  accidential shootings, etc.  You never know how a kid is going to turn out, but my kids know how to use guns, when and where and when not to.  Ten to one the kid responsible for  the shooting  doesn't have God in his life, and his parents don't either.

Ya notice the kids fox interviews are all factual and calm, whereas the cnn kids are all hysterical, now having people shocked at a thing like that is very normal, but they ain't the ones you want to interview on tv. More proof that they just want to report the emotion of the situation hoping their viewers will latch onto it and believe that they personally were there and experiencing the terror.

Y'all have to see the hysteria that is taking place in the cnn chatroom about the shooting!

There are people blaming the NRA (national right-wing a$$holes as one commie put it) and some half-wit even said "Kids that have homes with guns in them should not be allowed to go to school"! Hahaha.

I would bet next weeks pay the gun was legally purchased by the kids dad or something.

Now a witness is saying he(gunman) had talked about this before.  Maybe this is the result of being called a chicken shit.  Kid was a pushover and frequently picked on.  Sheesh  what a sad state of affairs.

Kid was patted down this morning by his friends, to see if he was armed.  They found nothing, but the gun was in his backpack (pistol???).  They also showed another girl with "small wounds"..possible of .22 caliber.

All these kids they are interviewing now are HAPPY AND ECSTATIC TO GET ON TV!! I am convinced now more than ever that a serious problem is going down over there that probably the (airborne waterborne?) CDC needs to get involved with.

I think a person who can shoot up a bunch of kids in a school probably ranks a little above a person who can smile and giggle about it on TV.

I am with Imbrog|io on this one.  Neal Knox quoted some data a while back about all the mass shooters over the past few years and every f**king one of them was using a pyscotropic drug.  Please pass the ritalin!!!  The larget per capita use of ritalin in the US is RPK.  The fruitcup parents out there would rather drug their kids than take responsibility for raising them.

We will now get to see if our new President is an advocate for the 2nd or a puss just like his father.

Has anybody every done any research on the level of gun restrictions in each state where a school or work place shooting has occured?  It would be interesting to see if the actual death rates were higher or lower in those states with extemely strict laws.  Just thinking back to those that have occurred, my own brain tells me that good number of them have been in states that don't allow concealed carry.

Another question:  WHY doesn't anybody look at the real issue in these shootings.  The people who commit them need help.  Whether its mental or social.  Somebody forgot to tell these people/children that violence isn't the solution (I know that sounds cliche-ish, but it applies).  I grew up being picked on because I was "nerdy" and didn't wear all the latest fads or get to do all of the things my friends were doing.  (Looking back that turned out to be a good thing.)  But never in my wildest dreams did I ever think of doing violence to those that made fun of me, not to mention the hundreds of other people who might not even know me.

It's a freaking shame that these kids think that this is all they have left in their bag of solutions for fixing what ails them.  And yet our society overlooks the OBVIOUS and chooses to blame the vehicle that these kids use to react to problems rather than the real problem itself. Shooting others is merely a symptom of something far more serious.

I'll step off my soap box now.  I just wish there was something that could be done to fix it.  I'm definitely going to raise my children with a focus on respect and responsibility, for both firearms and people.  But what can I do about the parents who won't?   GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

I wonder when Fienglestein. Box-whore, and Hitlry Cunton will be launching the latest ant-gun legislation.

I wonder if the pistol that the little fucker used passed the Kalifornia safety tests.

I didn't see it described as a "semi-automatic-assault-rifle-pistol-.50 caliber-handgun-AK47-machine-gun-saturday-night-special" anywhere in the news media.

What should REALLY happen is this "child" and its "parents" should be lined up in downtown Santee and then publicly executed.

What the hell is the use of unarmed campus security?  Three unarmed campus security were among the casualties.

And get this, there was a San Diego County Sheriffs DARE officer teaching a class on campus who was on the scene in seconds and he was unable to stop the shooting.  No reports that he was hurt.

Several things ya need to consider:

1. Many, if not most, school districts get ~$400 per kid per year for each kid they get onto Ritalin, acc to stories told me by some folks in teaching profession.

2. Why do folks shoot up schools? They are target-rich environments bkz everybody is disarmed..not even a knife with which to defend themselves from whacked-out punks!

3. In Israel they armed the TEACHERS and instituted armed parental patrols 26 yrs ago..and ended (totally) school terrorist shootings in Israel, which is surrounded by terrorist nations.

4. When you keep God out something evil will fill it up. Look at all the violent and occult vids, TV and movies..is it any wonder the kids are pharged-up?

5.You have a media in lock step with the gvt trying to disarm us...for some reason.

6. You had 3000+ unborn children killed today by ABORTION "DOCTORS"...yet nobody cares!! The kids know this, and realize just how little human life means to these abortionists, and to the gvt which supports abortion!! Why not kill some folks..it isn't any worse than abortion, right?  This may be their thinking part of the time.

As rotten as it is that those who heard the perp talking about this in previous days didn't do anything to try and prevent it, there isn't anything that they can be charged with.  I remind you of a case where a teenage boy molested and murdered a young black girl in a casino bathroom.  Said teenage boy's friend knew what was going on and didn't do anything to stop it.  It is NOT a crime to fail to prevent one from happening, or to fail to stop it if it is already occurring.

Again it's sad.  But the real crime was commited by the student.  The father does have some responsibility for his job (or lack thereof) in raising the boy, but to my knowledge he hasn't broken any laws yet either.  Though that may be subject to change as more info comes in.

Shooter used a .22cal 9 shot revolver.  Two students are dead, with head/neck wounds.  School security guard shot five times, when Sheriffs deputies got to him he was unable to move his legs.

ATF and a deputy US attorney specialising in firearms regulations are on scene to investigate the source of the firearm.

Unlike Columbine, Sherrifs deputies responded immediately and went streight in to corner the suspect.  Also a San Diego PD officer who was there with his wife to enroll their daughter for next year at that high school responded even though he was off duty.  The SDPD officer was the first officer to arrive at the actual shootng site, only 90seconds after the first shot rang out, 4 sheriffs deputites were there in no more than 3 minutes after reciving the call.  As soon as the kid saw someone drawing down on him with a gun, he dropped his and surrendered.

According to the other students the perp was abused and teased a lot on campus for being extreamly thin and extreamly shy.  Also used pot according to students.  Its my experience that the other students know more of what is going on on high school campuses than the adults who are supposed to supervise and administrate them.  Especially I beleve this case rather than Columbine where the talking heads spread rumors and misquoted students, this time the kids appeared on camera.

Sounds like the same MO, abused student goes postal, these shootings to my view arent really any different than the workplace shootings where an adult snaps and kills his bosses and coworkers who they think are behind their grief.

Still and video footage was taken by student photographers, and then confiscated by the Sheriffs department.  The video is important because it may have the shooters words recorded.

I am sure theres more, but they keep cutting in to talk about Dick Cheneys chest pains, which is of rather secondary importance in comparison.

Words of advice for youth of america,  don't pick on the crazy kid.  I am sure we all had a crazy kid in school with us, I can remember several.  Leave them alone.

Second piece of advice, for the parents,if your kid is crazy get them some help and lock-up your guns.

Finally, if you are in the media, dont spend days reporting the events and making a hero out of this child for the other crazy kids.

There appears to be two issues at work here.  An emotionally/physically abused kid versus "going postal".  Sixteen years ago, I was that extremely thin and shy kid.  My tormentors were merciless and many.  No one, including the faculty and parents, either understood my situation or gave a damn.  If this was the shooter's case also, a violent outburst is a normal reaction.  I'm not saying it was right, but that parental and teacher responsibility were sorely lacking.

School shooting are commonplace because they are so damn easy.  But, that is not the only factor...

Let us look at media exposure after each of these incidents.  It usually gets plastered all over the lamestream news for what, two damn WEEKS or so?  How mnay of you also think that these incidents maight be taking place to obtain some sort of infamous notoriety?  Kill my buddies, get on the news?  Shoot my teacher, on the front page for a week - and all over the Nation?

Let's try something new - if something like this happens agian (i.e. no real prevention measures are put in place) the it rates page 5 in the LOCAL section of the LOCAL paper the day it happens, and again when the case is resolved.  No more than four column inches, please.

Prevention measure?  Put the custodians and selected teachers through stringent background checks, and ARM THEM.  If necessary, give them an 'incentive' for being an on-site armed response force, but that gives us someone to respond IMMEDIATELY!  Send them to train with the local and county/state PD response units - prevent another Columbine.  That, friends, was a prime case of a testicular confrontation caused by the let ball not knowing where the right ball was swinging.  If all of those LE units had trained together, and had plans for operating together, then response would have been immediate.  Put the first NCO onn scene in charge, everybody reports to him.  Augment first response forces with those arriving - at least for "bench strength."  Get everybody involved, and SHARE INFORMATION.

When some kid decides to open fire, be ready to take him DOWN.  Kill/Don't Kill is NEVER an easy decision to make - I KNOW.  Still, it is something that these people have to REALLY prepare for!

And, for the Liberal Brain-Donors out there...

"There are no dangerous weapons.  Only dangerous men."  Robert Anton Heinlein (in the person of Lazarus Long,) Metheuselah's Children.

It is wrong to blame drugs, music, and lack of religion for the event that occured.  As has been stated by several people on this thread and as reported by the media, they kid was probably picked-on,by other because of this size, his looks, or just because he he was odd(crazy).  If you abuse someone they will react, some violently.

A couple of comments:

First of all, not everybody in Kalifornia is a g-ddamn liberal.  If you discount San Francisco, LA, and Sacramento, you would get the equivalent of Texas.

I agree that arming somebody in the schools would be prudent.  We shouldn't be creating "unarmed victim zones."  The teachers would be the best choice.  I bet EVERYBODY would behave in class then...  hehe  The Israelis armed their teachers and terrorist attacks went to zero!

The worst part is this - this high school is the same one that the Governor's wife went to.  Guess what his reaction is likely to be if he gets a few gun control bills to sign?

Drugs and a obsession with music with violent lyrics, or violent movies/videogames is a symptom/

And the people on Ritilan or Prosac usually go postal when they stop taking the drug cold turkey, most often because they are parinoid and think that people are trying to "control" or "enslave" them.  They start seeing it as another part of the abuse they have faced.  Occasionally its because they loose their insurance, but mostly they do it to themselves.  Of course these people belonged in a group home or hospital to begin with where they could be supervised and their medication monitored.

So tell me, just tell me how the latest PRK gun controls before the legislature, namely liscensing and registration, would have prevented this.  But I will guarantee you the anti-gun zealots will point to this incident to push the latest proposals.  You could round up every gun and these wackos will just come up with another way to do their deeds.  An example is the kid that just the other day killed 9 with his car.  The MMM's say it's 'for the children' yet consider how much of this crap is carried out by the children.

Over the course of the past few months I have  read countless reports such as the one from Pontiac,Mich., where a third grader was suspended for bringing a one-and-a-half inch "gun-shaped medallion" to school. Or about kinder kiddies that were suspended for playing cops & robbers.. Or my favorite - the elementery school student that was suspended for pointing a chicken nugget at a teacher and saying "Bang". I was not convinced that such reactionary responses would necessarily prevent school shootings, but I  was convinced that we would see the last of the big-mouth chowder- head who always steps forward and blabs about how the shooter told him all this but he thought it was a joke.

One way to end this crap (aside from teaching kids right from wrong, and getting rid of the glorified violence they are constantly bombarded with) is to tell the truth on national TV about the perps. They should be labeled as uncool, stupid, unable to get a date, etc. This would possibly prevent some unstable kids from copy cat crimes in the future by playing on the only thing they truly fear, REJECTION and RIDICULE from their peers.
