Let's see:
Ruger 22/45   = 1
Henry 22      = 1
Colt AR15     = 4
450 rnds ammo = 0
---------------
Total         = 6

6/34 =  0.17647

And people call me a gun nut?

1.39.

miz cleo, she say there be a coupla bricks of 22 in my future.

i dont really see the point in stockpiling THOUSANDS of rounds.

if i NEED ammo, the first couple of rounds should settle the question. anything more is excess baggage. (not to say i dont prefer to keep several loaded mags handy...)

What about when the next "question" arises?

"stockpiling" serves multiple purposes:

1.  buy ammo when it's cheap
2.  you don't feel guilty shooting up a bunch, since you have lot's more
3.  you don't feel guilty shooting up a bunch because it's already bought and paid for
4.  you have spare ammo for your buddies
5.  if they cut off ammo tommorrow you can still shoot w/no worries about keeping your strategic reserve
6.  it's money the bank, you can always sell it if needed
7.  in a SHTF scenario, you don't know how many roving bands will need to be driven off
8.  in a SHTF scenario, you can afford to blast enough ammo to convince the BG's you are a hardened target and they should move on

3.75 at minimum, probably forgot something.

This should be modified a bit:
- break out the ammo separately (someone could "win" with just a pile of cheap .22 ammo)
- score different ammo differently (1000 rounds of .22 does not balance with 1000 rounds of .50BMG, or even .223)
- score obscure hardware higher (one M16 should score higher than two AR15s)

Neat test!

It would have been higher, but I recently sold 3 guns and a bunch of ammo and Magzines in order to buy an AR-15, .223 Ammunition, and some AR Magzines.

As for ammunition. I once had 20,000 Rounds at of .22 Rimfire; 1,000 Rounds of Various 12 Gauge; and 2,000 Rounds of Centerfire.

I have since moved entirely to centerfire since rimfires are unreliable. Centerfire ammuniton is more expensive and therefore I own alot less.

BTW, I have shot 5,000 Rounds of .22LR in one day.

Also, we need points for magazines. Extra points for Pre-Ban Hi-Caps.

If this score is a 'mine is bigger than yours' contest, I think Eric the Ammoman has us all beat to Hell.

Figuring he has a couple of million rounds in inventory, his score would be off the scale..

Reading about what some of you people have I can see that being yung really helps.

Now that's just CHEATING!

Besides, does he own that ammo or the bank?

4 pistols x 2 = 8
1 combat shotgun x 3 = 3
3 bolt action x3 = 9
3 semi auto semi's x 4 = 12
7000 rounds x 10 per thou = 70

102 points / 22 =

4.6 points total.

Are some counted more than once?  For example, I have a Marlin Camp .45 Carbine.  It would classify under pistol caliber carbine for 3, centerfire for 2, and semi-auto for 4, totaling 9 points.  Is this how it is done?

I think it should be noted that to count, the guns must be yours, not your family's ect. [:)]

Of course not!  One score per gun.

Interesting question, since I scored by Buckmark and my 10-22 as rimfires, only 1 point.  As semi-autos they would be 4.

( ± ) 1147 / 45 = 25.488888 = FIRE!!!

1 point for each rimfire you own, rifle and pistol.

2 points for each centerfire pistol, blackpowder, muzzleloader, and "sporting shotgun"

3 points for pistol caliber carbines, combat shotguns, and bolt action centerfires

4 points for each semi-auto centerfire

5 points for each NFA and .50bmg weapons

10 points for each 1000 rounds of ammo you have on hand.

20 points if you reload.

The test asks how many "on hand" - Heck in my case I own several thousand (mainly 5.56 and 7.62) but they are on the other side of the world - thus not "on hand". I would say Eric's inventory is definiteley "on hand."

14.28      and I am old as crap.
But with all of our money squandered on guns and ammo we have very little for booze, drugs and hookers. That is what makes us soooooo law abiding.
I have a friend or two that if they ever had a house fire you could see it from the moon.  So I am still way behind in the collecting game.
