Actually Norm, NYS case law has long ruled that masculine references in the State constitution apply equally to men and women.  It was a useless BS PC referendum that accomplished nothing more than driving up printing costs and further brainwashing the masses.  Constitutional amendments are supposed to be hard and rare so as to discourage emotional actions such as this.  All we did was make it easier for further amendments down the road that will erode freedom.

I believe that the US constitution refers to men although the courts have ruled the same protections are afforded to women.  Should we change that too?  While we are at it lets get rid of that pesky 2nd amendment...

CT, you are wrong.  I worked for the NY legislature and what it requires is passage by two seperately elected successive legislatures and a referendum in the next general election.
