I was watching TDC yesterday on LA cops who patrol the tough areas and they showed a scene of the cops busting into some drug dealers house and the narrator said "The officers use semi-automatic rifles and shotguns for their weapon of choice." Then they move on two 2 cops who are brothers who collect guns and they show them shooting M1's and HK91's and the narrator called them "semi-automatic clones of military type rifles"........but THEN they find a dead guy in is home who had about 12 long funs and 5 handguns. The 12 rifles, most of which were bolt action, the guy also had a .50BMG, and yep they used terms like "deadly assault rifle, right wing wacko, and the cops said "obviously he isn't a gun collector, he was preparing for something else". Bottom line when the cops have AR's, FAL's, HK91's they are "clones of military rifles" when civilians have them they are evil, and the person is considered a nut! Did anyone else see it? Sorry it seams like a anti-leo rant but geeze

Discovery Channel is British. Is this explaining all?

Yeah, I saw that too. Really pissed me off, but I can't say I'm that surprised. I guess those cops were clairvoyant, and knew he was going to do something bad to other people. Either that, or they visited the Oracle of Delphi the night before and got the inside scoop.

Also the line, "this is the kind of guy we don't want owning guns."

I saw that too. It pisses me off when the only reason they think the guy is a survivalist nut is because he has guns. And, if he has guns, he has to have explosives. Reality check: if the guy really was a survivalist, why was he in some suberb type area? Funny thing: one guy knew the name of one gun (an enfield) and while everyone was pulling out other guns, he was like "Dude, holy shiat mannn, this is like an enfield. . . I'm on film and now I look like a bad azz gun expert!" WTF, they acted surprised that someone would have a "Cllinton is a Socialist" bumpersticker on their car. GGGRRRR! Another example of wannabe cops who get to show off on tv.

I was watching the DISTRICT the other night and they showed the Tec-9 as "paramilitary" arm. Lol. Luckily, the show wasn't TOO antigun, it focused more on illegal arms and kids getting guns.

Man, it sounds like they only want the cops to have guns. Only when the civilian has a gun is it considered an "Assault rifle".

Only in Columbia. Well, maybe that's why I stopped watching that channel, or maybe its cause I got bored with the channel. Ice

They used to focus more on nature and science, but for some time now it's been nothing but a dumping ground for network reruns on crime and hate groups. PASS!

I've decided that from now on, I will pass on tdc and tune in on the history channel.

LOL I thought that was funny too....he finds himself and enfield and he acts like it is the greatest gun he has ever seen.......I guess he was trying to make it look [red]evil[/red] I also remember them getting their panties in a wad because he kept them loaded as if it were irresponsible....hell he lived alone

Did anyone else notice that almost all the "criminals" that the CRASH unit arrested for "suspicious behavior," usually getting physical with the suspect in the process (because they escalated the situtaion, not the suspect), were later released without charges. Both the guy I was watching it with (who is also a criminal justice major) could not believe these guys. I think the producers just went to the LAPD and asked to be assigned to the most idiotic cowboys on the force. Kyle
