... From Iron Maiden. Just listened to it coming home from work. Dust off your CDs and give it a try at... oh... about 150db for nostalgia purposes. You will then agree with me in announcing this as the GREATEST SONG EVER MADE.

I like "Run to the Hills" more, but that's just me.

Best song ever??  Are you kidding me!!

What about Bye,bye Miss American Pie?

Or how "Love is real, not fade away" by Buddy Holly??

"Song Remains the Same" by Led Zepplin.

"Louie, Louie" by the Kingsmen (I think)?

and on...and on...and on

Its a good song...but no where close to the greatest.

Hallowed Be Thy Name is a great song, but I think I like Phantom of the Opera, Prodigal Son, To Tame A Land, and Alexander the Great even more. Maiden just has so damn many GREAT songs that it's hard to say I like one better than another.

All of the old IM is good, about the only song worth a shit on their latest CD is The Wickerman.

Hallowed Be Thy Name
Harris

I'm waiting in my cold cell when the bell begins to chime
Reflecting on my past life and it doesn't have much time
Cos at 5 o'clock they take me to the Gallows Pole
The sands of time for me are running low

When the priest comes to read me the last rites
I take a look through the bars at the last sights
Of a world that has gone very wrong for me

Can it be there's some sort of error
Hard to stop the surmounting terror
Is it really the end not some crazy dream

Somebody please tell me that I'm dreaming
It's not so easy to stop from screaming
But words escape me when I try to speak
Tears they flow but why am I crying
After all I am not afraid of dying
Don't believe that there is never an end

As the guards march me out to the courtyard
Someone calls from a cell "God be with you"
If there's a God then why has he let me die?

As I walk all my life drifts before me
And though the end is near I'm not sorry
Catch my soul cos it's willing to fly away

Mark my words please believe my soul lives on
Please don't worry now that I have gone
I've gone beyond to see the truth

When you know that your time is close at hand
maybe then you'll begin to understand
Life down there is just a strange illusion.

You can bet I'll be playing some King Diamond and Mercyful Fate tonight. "Aaaargh, it's Halloween!" [dracula]

My favorite song ever is Proxima Centauri by SadEx.

I like the first 3 I.M. lps the best. 4 if you count the live mini Maiden Japan.

I was first introduced to Maiden by a room mate I had while in the USMC at MCAS Iwakuni Japan back in 84. Aces High is my favorite. I like the Churchill speech they use for the intro. Eddie lives!
