I picked up 4 boxes of Wolf .223 ammo for my AR on Friday, went to the range this afternoon to try out this $3.85 special. To start with I froze my ass and fingers, it's cold today in WV. The Russian special jamed every 3 rounds(bummer), tried the UMC at rapid succession with no problems, switched mags and gave it a second chance, well I will kiss this crap goodby. Should have read the forum!

O! is it day again.

No day is a good day for Wolf.
Spend the exter money you will have much more luck,I know I F*ed up a good barrel getting a shell out.

The only good Wolf ammo is 7.62x39 and 5.45x39. Everything else they make sucks in my experience.

I have heard that the ARs are on the picky side, I think its the Laquer used to coat the steel cases. I know my SAR-3 eats wolf all day without a hitch. Ahh the beauty of the AK platform, if it can chamber it, it will fire it with no complaints.

Seriously, I think the AR platform really has to have a brass cased round.

Funny, my pre-ban DPMS and Oly M-16 eat the stuff without complaint. Just like multiple pistols, AK's and a registered Thompson!

May be due to the fact I buy and use the stuff by the case. All of my non-AK guns are used and well broken in. An AK isn't broken in until several thousand rounds fired so I am still working on it!!

I put 800 rds of Wolf through my Bushmaster yesterday without incident. Maybe I just got a good case.

Yeah, but nothing beats outshooting a guy with a $1200 Colt with a $300 SAR in the same Caliber. The Bulgarian .223 barrel with Styer technology and 1-9 twist is designed for for Wolf / Barnaul 62 grain and shoots great. Also I have been unable to get mine to jam on anything. $10 30 rounders, indestructable rifle. I love it.

Besides, there are no more commies, At least in Europe.

I tried the Wolf in my AR and M17s, thank god it is all gone. 1000 rounds and now I will never subject my rifles to it again. I hear they are comeing out with .308 ammo, the FAL just gave me a dirty look:). Kidding boy, settle down!!!

I buy up every box I see, and I suggest you guys do the same. The sporting goods kid at Wal-Mart just sets all he has on the counter when he see's me coming.

That would be the shooter, not the gun. The real test is whether you can outshoot YOURSELF with one gun or the other.

Quite true. I do about the same with either. But both can shoot straighter than I am capable of. Ya shoulda seen the look on the guys face though, he had just finished telling me about his " Man's gun Vs My commie toy " That gong ringing at 200 really ticked him off as he went into the dirt to the left, then the right.

I own SAR's- and for the money, there isn't a better value in the gun world (Well, it used to be that way. They ain't cheap after 9/11 anymore)

Anyway, there isn't a SAR in this world I can't beat with any AR15, any day, any time. Period, 100% for sure- always, no doubt. My best SAR group is 1 2/3 inches at 100 with my SAR2 using Dynamit-Nobel 5.45 ammo, and a PSO scope.
I could beat that with a damn Hesse AR if I had to.

You probably could, but most could not. This has more to do as Rik pointed out with the person than the tool. For my part, both have more than acceptable combat accuracy. The goof at the range however bought into the fallacy that a " legendary " edge in accuracy would outdo skill. This was his undoing. I get about 2-3 MOA with 62 grain Barnaul or Wolf which is more than acceptable for my purpose. I think the gun is capable of slightly better, but I am not. This being the case I would go with the more rugged mechanism. I do not shoot matches. I would however not ague your point of the inherent accuracy of the AR. The bulgie barrel in the SAR aint bad though.

I will preface my reply by saying I have never fired one round of Wolf .223.
But, That is the *only* thing that's ever gone down the spout of my 7.62X39mm AR upper or the 9mm AR upper. Thousands and thousands or rounds of it without a FTE. It's pretty accurate.
It is also pretty dirty.
That's been my experiance with it in ARs, you may have a different one.

now, back to shooting cheapassed ex-commie ammo and cheapassed ex-commie guns...you know, the ones with 10,000+ "non-quality controlled" rounds thru 'em! after all, there's so little quality built into them, i have to make the "bang" sound myself!!! lmfao!

I guess that would depend on how you define communist. I tend to view what we think of as Communist as the Marxist / Leninist model. That is, a totalitarian state in which al individuals subborn to the so called greater good. That model is surely dead. Free markets, free elections, that sort of thing. There are certainly communist political parties, but not really following the totalitarian model. There are certainly states that have a more socialist leaning, France comes to mind.

Strange this comes out of a thread about a fail to feed problem, this is part of what brought down the communists.

The 7.62x54 from Wolf is pretty nice.

... all "my friends'" AR15's digest ANY ammo they eat. There is [b]NO[/b] room for "finicky" ammo. That is a ploy of our enemy.
Not only that, but they can still hit one minute of angle accuracy to boot.
[b]I[/b] have no reson to doubt "them".

... ya'll need to "tune" yer' firearms!

If you have a tight chamber and a new not yet broken in rifle, Wolf will give you fits. If youhave a broken in rifle with a NATO chamber, it will eat ?wolf like candy. Accuracy is another story, you get what you pay for.
