About 14 per day * 7 days per week = 98 hours.  Wow, no wonder I'm so tired.  Add-in having to walk to work half of the time, because I can't find a ride, and I'm surprised I have enough energy to get out of bed.  The only good part about work is that I have about 4 hours of dead-time spread-out through the day that I can use the Internet.  Got my paycheck today, and it was $566 after taxes for the week.  What's funny is that the guy at Olympic Arms I talked to this week couldn't figure-out why I was so upset with them.  I worked hard for the money I have in my rifle, and almost five months without having it work (bolt won't close over the magazine lips) is frustrating.  I don't think he understands what I sacrified to buy it.z

Averaging 10-12 hours per day for the last 6 months. Problem is that I am salary. Currently I have been "awarded" more comp time than I have vacation time. I know I will never see it.

I am on the verge of walking. I have saved enough to take some serious time off with worry (when you don't have a social life, the income is greater than expenses).

We are so understaffed it is disgusting. Only problem is that management is proud that we have so few employees. Go figure.

Before I got injured I used to work 45-55 hours per week.  I was salaried and the job desciption stated 50hrs per week.  I really didn't mind working long days as I have worked since I was 12 years old, I am 36 now.  I see alot of people always bitch about their job but never really understood why.  Life's to short to hate something you spend a 3rd of your lifetime doing.  I know some jobs just plain suck, but the right attitude can make a big difference.

On Jan 10, 2000 I hurt my back at work so bad that I had to have surgery and haven't been able to work since.  The back pain has been bad....but the worst part is not having a job to go to every morning.

So if you thing working sucks, try going without working for a while....because it is worse in my humble opinion.

About 60hrs /wk unless somebody's got a project to complete, it's the end of the fiscal year, and if they don't spend the money they lose it.  Then all hell breaks lose and you can tack on another twenty.

Here lately, I've been averaging 56 hours a week.  Normally, I get by on 40 hrs per week, but my truck blew a head gasket and I'm in another "must have more guns" phase.

I'm lucky enough to be self employed. So I get to work my own hours.

But there's only so many hours you can work a day hanging drywall. Especialy as much as we hang in a day. Usualy hanging about 2 tons of rock. That includes packing that 2 tons of rock up work benches, handing it up on scaffolding, holding it above your head, nailing it off, etc, etc.

About seven hours a day is enough. Though some weeks we might work seven days a week. And I've been known to work 60 hours a week when real busy.

I'm on salary.

Generally 10 hours a day. But I am sent out a lot for "Trouble Shooting Problems" or on "Special Projects" and have at times worked for 40 hours straight getting a piece of equipment running properly.

Also get sent to lovely places like Nigeria and Cameroon in West Africa doing the same thing. Might be gone a month or longer then.

I'm away from home a lot. Should have stayed in the "Service".

sgtar15, i know where you're at.  Working for a living sucks until you can't do it any more.  I have been out of work for 2-1/2 years now, and it would be nice to have someplace to go in the morning.  The only good side is I can shoot whenever the pain will allow, and spend a lot of time with Lil' Spec.

The way I look at it is I "contracted" with my employer to give him 40 hours in exchange for my salary... if he wants more, he's going to have to come up with a darn good reason - or perk.  Like comp time, or a bigger bonus.

I used to get paid hourly - and am thinking about going abck to it... then I don't mind overtime - I get paid for it - but now, I think my wife and kid appreciate me trying to stick to 40 hours a week...

40 a week
Monday-Thursday (10 hour days)
Love my 3 day weekends.

I try to avoid overtime. Done too much of that crap when I was young. Rather spend my time with my family and my guns.

40 hours, sometimes more if I arrest somebody stupid, have court in the morning, or get caught up with a late job...happens ALOT now that assholes are calling in fake bomb threats and Anthrax/mysterious white powder sightings.

Made 160+ hours OT so far since the World Trade Center attack. Gov't took way more than half away from me!
