OK I do recognize the difference between the two. What I did was confuse you with another poster that was also posting worthwhile info.
I wasn't in the Navy or Marines. But no excuse that was stupid. Thank you for pointing out my lack of education, I do see the spell check at the bottom and my typing is hunt and peck and many times I don't review or proofread my posts. Chock it to being lazy if you`d like, that would be the first conclusion I would jump to also. I am oh so very sorry for not getting the entertaining humor you have offered. Also so vely solly for calling you all the adolescent names that you find offensive. I was under the impression it was a discussion about kicking a state out of the union. Not all are as lucky as you to live in such a great state. I humbly retract everything I have posted in your direction. I am awed by your perception and social skills. I would expect nothing less from a Marine. Also sorry for bringing up anything to do with the military as I see that you didn't bring the subject up at all. But I'll tell you one thing, as long as I live here I will stay in the fight and defend California from attack, from both inside and outside the state. Let me restate that... We vote, we make calls, we support our sport with cash money and time, we write letters, send emails, we are single issue voters, we belong to the NRA and like minded ORG. Supposedly, as Texas once was its own country, it reserved the right to become one again during the entire process of being admitted into the Union. At the risk of becoming a target of [b]everybody[/b] here, I have to say that I believe that this is a big part of why gun owners keep losing their rights nearly everywhere. Unless I'm grossly mistaken, I'm guessing that everybody at AR15.com would like to live in a USA where access to firearms is not restricted by acts of law (i.e., stricter adherence to the Second Amendment). But as we bicker and argue about how lame one place or another is (on this post it's California, a future one it may be Chicago or NYC, then DC), the anti's band together and strip away our God given rights (no offense to atheists, agnostics, polytheists, animists, etc.). The truth is CA has some really bad gun laws. So do a lot of other places (I've lived in NYC & Boston and was struck by how relatively [b]easy[/b] it was to get a gun when I moved to SoCal [:)] ). The truth is there are places with less restrictive gun laws like Texas and Vermont. The truth is there are lots of Californians who do everything they can to fight these laws. The truth is we win some of those battles, we lose others, and under the current administration, we suffer greatly. The truth is regardless of in which state you reside, some of your gun rights have already been taken away (the Federal laws affect all of us). And the really sad truth is as we fight and bicker amongst ourselves over largely irrelevant issues, the real enemies like Schumer and Feinstein screw us all. "My state's better than your state"? What happened to [b]my country[/b]? While it's natural (and expected) to have pride in your home state, it's not productive to attack another. I remember learning these words a a few (okay, many) years ago (forgive me if I get part of it wrong): I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which protect our country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense. "Our country." Not "Our country except for the parts I really don't like." If you travel 90% of the rest of the state you will find that very conservative/pro-gun people abound. This is true of many states, including California. Like another poster already mentioned, I'm glad we have the electoral college for if we didn't, our liberal metropolises would dictate the politics for our country. |

Okay, wgunn, I've been thinking about our little pissing contest and I tell ya what, in the interest of maintaining a semblance of civility on this board, and since you were big enough to apologize first, I apologize for calling you a chicken shit. Sorry I took so long, but not only am I a rude prick, but I'm a stubborn bastard as well. It's not one of my most redeeming qualities.
You're certainly not the first person on this board to rub me the wrong way, and I'm sure you won't be the last. Most of the time I ignore posts like this, but sometimes I hit the reply button. You just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and so was I. But I hope you understand where I’m coming from with my previous posts. Besides putting up with all the liberal bullshit in this godforsaken state, us California gun owners seem to incur the scorn of many progunners too, like we're somehow getting what we deserve. We didn't ask for this. I lost count of the times I've read people on this board put down other members simply because they're from California, not to mention the asshole from Canada who requested that Goatboy change the country code for Canada from CA to CAN, because he didn't want to be associated with California. We catch hell from both sides. Most of the gun community has already written us off as a lost cause, including most of the members of this board. The NRA isn't much help. Maybe they're right, and maybe I'm just wasting my time trying to stave off the inevitable. The ship is sinking so why polish the brass? It sure gets frustrating sometimes. But OTOH, I honestly think it would be a lot WORSE if we did nothing. Like I said before, you should see some of the draconian gun bills that DIDN'T make it into law. For that matter, the fact that the Governor signed only one gun law this year is in a way a small, albeit Pyrrhic, victory. After the last gun owner leaving California brings the American flag out with them, then you can "kick Cali to the curb" all you want to, and I'll be right there to help you. Okay, I feel better now. I have the utmost respect for a man who can apologize. I believe such actions to be very honorable. Thanks again. Hell man, we're more similar than dissimilar but sometimes we turn on each other out of frustration. I understand such dynamics... it's human. But what takes something more than just being human is to have the balls to step forward and apologize. That sets you apart. I look forward to having more civil discussions with you in the future.
